Has anyone heard about this? I came across it and started looking up some info for it. It's been rumored to have a flip-top design, similar to the GBA SP. The games are suppose to come on mini-discs instead of cartridges and the graphics are supposed to be better than the Dreamcast. Bluetooth wireless networking will be built in.The system will feature backwards compatibility, but not in the same way the GBA plays old Game Boy games. Supposedly there will be a device that will allow you to download games from their carts into a harddrive-like element of the new Game Boy.
All of this is rumored but i thought it was kind of interesting. Here are two different pics i found, both look photoshopped. I dont think Nintendo would release ANOTHER console right now, not after the DS has been released and the Wii coming soon.

Interesting concept pics. The top one is just the Wii controller with a screen over top. The bottom looks like a home made handheld made from a gamecube. I've seen those before from the PSX and such.

I would love to be able to download all of my gba games into the gameboy, i think that would be pretty awesome, and i have seen those pics before, the bottom one was a fake of a portable gamecube. that is just akward.

So fake, look at the Nintendo logo at the top, it's right on the edge yet it stays flat. Only one of many mistakes...

Hmmm.. The Wii was called the Revolution, and now there is an Evolution, I see a suprise console + handheld compatibility
meh the gameboy is dead technology, they should let it rest in peace instead of rerererereleasing it

Yeah, handheld consoles are dying, with phones becoming better and better every year, soon phones will be just as good as a psp, sortof like the Sony Mylo

if the GBA was dead they wouldnt have put the GBA slot on the DS, and they wouldnt be releasing new games. GBA still has some juice left in it :lol:

Better than a dreamcast? I don't know about that. If the dreamcast graphics are better than the ds ones (or at least that's how I remembered it) then why would the gba have superior graphics to a ds? That part just doesn't make sence to me.
Anywho, is it me or did those 2 little lights on the bottom of the right hand corner of the screen come right off the dsl?:p

well this Evolution is suppose to play gamecube games, so the graphics would be better than the dreamcast... but i doubt it will ever come out

However obviously fake it is, I like the portable gamecube looking one. It reminds me of the handheld dreamcast mod that showed up on ebay some time ago.
If it was only a little less clunky looking to hold and control, it would be fun for trips and the like.

Then why make the Gameboy micro? If Nintendo’s next handheld were to outperform the Ds I doubt it would be under the Gameboy name. If that were true then the Ds would have only seen 2 models (well, one model and a variation of the first) before it was obsolete. What would be the reasoning behind that? If anything I think both the Ds and Gameboy will keep on going but the Ds will always be the more luxurious of the two with better features.
On the flip side if the new Gameboy were to have better graphics than the current Ds I would think the Ds would have seen its final days or Nintendo will release a Ds 2 with better graphics than the new Gameboy. Nintendo really has something going with the Ds. No other handheld is like it and I don't see the point in putting more money in the Gameboy to make it outperform the Ds.
