It seems like barely anyone got their hands on Tapper. I don't ever remember "Rootbeer" being part of the game title, but this truly was one of the best games I have owned. I remeber my dad was really into this one as well. Anyone else ever own this true classic? ALso, my old man used to write down high scores for all cartridges. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Yup, I have Rootbeer Tapper, both the cart and the rom for the emulator (if your dad hasn't tried the Colecovision emulator yet - you'll blow him away by getting it for him!)
Basically you can get him virtuall ALL Colecovision cartridges that were made (plus prototypes plus NEW games) for him to play on his computer. They're not copies or clones either they're the actual games he played on his colecovision with same graphics, sound und hidden tricks/easter eggs.
You can download the Colecovision emulator for DOS and Windows on the Web, and you can also download all the game roms (the carts) from the web too.
If you need further info, email me at

Anyway You're right, for the Colecovision on the opening screen it doesn't say "Rootbeer Tapper" it says "Tapper".
Same Game.

I remember having a high score book. Me and my brother were always trying to beat each other scores. He was really better than me (he had something like 90% of the high scores). But I was the unbeatable champion at Jumpman Junior... I made about 1 million points and I reached level 186! My game wasn't finish but I didn't continue the game because I was really tired at the end! I made this high score at speed 2.
One of the things I dislike from today's games is the fact that the goal isn't to earn to most points out of each games but the goal is to finish the game... once the game is finished, well, you toss it aside and buy another game.
Bye,
