View Full Version : Should Nintendo Give It Up?

I have to say a few things. I have noticed that Nintendo isn't doing so well with its Game Cube. The PS2 and the X-Box are clearly more popular. I have that impression. Should Nintendo give it up and do what SEGA did? Should they stop competing and start releasing games for other platforms like SEGA is doing? Both Atari and SEGA was crushed under the weight of the popular Sony PlayStation. Atari's Jaguar and SEGA's Dreamcast was the last gaming systems put out by them. I don't want to see Nintendo give in like Atari and SEGA. The only thing going for Nintendo right now is its Game Boy. That might not last either with the new stuff coming out. The new Sony PlayStation hand held system that will soon be released, for example.

I WOULD DIE IF NINTENDO DOES GIVE IT UP!!!!

I agree with you 100%!

I love Nintendo and I don't want that to happen. Any opinions on how Nintendo can kick some a$$ ? I want Nintendo to stay in the game and avoid any future mistakes like the one they made with Virtual Boy.

well, according to statistics, 1 Virtual Boy was perchased in the last month in the UK, so there's someone out there who likes them, or really wants to have every nintendo console!

Nintendo shall be uber forevea! You can't forget the classics though. I still have my NES, SNES, and original Game Boy! Hope the Wii lives up to what I think it is gonna be.

What are you guys talking about!? As long as there are video games there will be a nintendo. Sure the gamecube didnt sell as much as ps2 or xbox, but the ds/dslite have out sold the psp worldwide. i dont see the end of nintendo anytime soon.

Why should Nintendo give up when they're about to release the greatest console of all time? >_<

What... The Wii? I seriously doubt that will be known as the greatest console of all time.

Anyway, The Gamecube wasn't that far behind the XboX in sales. And remember, that Nintendo pretty much dominates the handheld market.

Personally, I think the Wii could still go either way. While it certainly looked good at E3, it could still flop if Nintendo failes to provide different games for it. They better have some decent games that won't get boring after the innovation of the controller falls off.

The Wii wont be the greatest console of all time because its last gen graphics wise. It could be the greatest prehiprial system of alltime though. Nintendo was able to get a pretty big spotlight on them and now time will tell if its all razzle and no dazzle.

Should Nintendo give up? Should Reebok stop making shoes? Nintendo will forever be in the gaming industry.

Very true, yet there are still people like me who could give a damn about graphics and go for gameplay.

Nintendo should go portable only. Considering the advancements they are bypassing with their consoles in favor of new, basically "prototype" advancements like the controller, they should go Portable only. They're doing well in that aspect, so I say commit to it.

Does it really matter how old it is? As long as this is still a viable discussion, it's age has no real relevance.

Actually, there was a 1 year bump, then a series of short bumps.
