I only checked because all the controllers on ebay were too damned high to justify the purchase.

The controller came in today. Free shipping was listed at 6-10 business days. So by that count, it arrived earlier than expected. The controller was sealed in an official Xbox 360 package, batteries, etc. Just as it would be had I purchased it from wal-Mart, or another B&M store.

That is what you get when you buy it "new" lol. I'm surprised it's still at this price. How does the black finishing feel compared to the original white controller?

Umm.. it's black matte. If I remember correctly, the white, wireless controller was a slick white controller. My white wired controller is white matte. I can't be 100% sure about the white, wireless controller though.

As for my description in the above post, I was just re-assuring folks that you do get a new, retail controller; not a white box OEM package. Even though the controller would be the same, it makes a difference to some people.
