Can't connect to one person?

Hey, all! I have Xbox Live and was wondering if it ever gets screwy to where I can't connect to one person we live very closeby and I cannot connect to him in any way we cannot do a chat or play together in a room hosted by either of us. We can send messages but thats it. We can also play online together either through someone-elses room or matchmaking. I have another friend who live close to him and I have no problem connecting to him.

I had the same problem. Make sure your NAT is open. Go to the Xbox Live connection test in the System Area of your Xbox 360 and it will tell you. Also make your friend do the same.

Mine is at Moderate, and so is my friend's is there a way to change this?

This sometimes happens to me to. Vtec and I were trying to private chat and then start some NBA 06 for some achievements. Problem was we couldnt send invites and he couldnt private chat with me. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesnt.
