Which Playstation 2 do you have? I have a new slimline model. I traded my Fat one for a slim line model, and I love it.
I still have the fat one. I see no reason to trade it in for a slim model.

Well my fat model was loud and annoying so my friend said he'd rather have a loud one than one that gets very hot so, we traded.

There is no option for both?

I hear load times on the slimline suck.
Do they still get awful disk read errors?
I'm gonna stick with my chubby ps2 cuz I know how to take it apart to clean and adjust the lens. I don't wanna have to relearn the ropes on a new model of the system.
Plus, fat PS2 is old-school.

The load times I think are basically the same.

Open up your ps2 and see how much of your own hair's in it.
Trust me, it gets in there.

Well I have a slim line one so I don't know how or want to open it :D.

1. Ps2's are not that loud and I don't see why it would bother you in the first place.
2. If it did bother you the sounds from the game would practically mask the sounds from the ps2.
I love my ps2. It's not fat, it's just husky.

I bought my PS2 on launch day, and I've never had a problem with it. I have a network adapter, so there is no reason for me to upgrade. Also, does the slim one take a HDD?

Had my phat one for over 5 years now, and it may not read CD's... But it still works. So I have no reason to trade it in.
i dont see the ponit in the slim one if you can put a hdd in the big one and we all know why you wanna do that

The Slim one dosent use the HDD but there's a case mod that will allow you to make a Slim into a Fat so that you can. Too much work IMO though. I've had the fat system since launch, only problem was the DRE errors and sony fixed that for me free because it was a launch system. I also got both my FF11 HDD and my Modem/Broadband adapter for free by being a PSU/GAP member. HDD also lets you play imports without a mod chip... SEXY.

I have the fat one as well. Who cares how it looks as long as it works well. I've had mine since the launch of it.
