Why do the English pay so much for video games? They pay 30 pounds (56 dollars) per psp game while we only pay 40. They pay 100 pounds for a ds lite (almost 190 dollars) while we only pay 130. I was even talking to one guy who said the basic ps3 package will cost 400 pounds which turns out to be over 750 dollars. That really sucks. What’s up with that?

Well, I'm just speculating, but maybe they've got higher taxes on electronic goods. It's the same with alcohol all over the world. I can get hammered from $30 worth of alcohol in the states, but up here, that's not even enough for a case of beer.

B/C their tax is like 30-something percent. I don't know exactly but I've heard their tax is crazy...

That sucks for them. It doesn't stop at electronics either. They pay close to 2x for cars as well.

It depends. I'm sure the people within London make a good amount of money but the cost of living is also pretty high so it evens out. Like the people in Japan I suppose the people in England are used to paying those preposterous prices for merchandise. We really have it good. :D

GBP are worth less than USD. I'm so glad I don't live in Britain anymore.

have you checked the exchange rate recently? nearly $2 to the £.
The Pound is THE strongest currency in the world.
yes its because of taxes that we pay stupid prices, this is why we take **** loads of money on holiday with us to the US or ASIA
Differently the "GAS" or petrol over here is nearly twice as strong as yours which runs cars nearly twice as wide as ours.
you have a big country to drive through though so i can understand this.
Take the legal age for driving, you are permitted to drive at 16 over here its 17 (but near impossible to get insurance).
the reason being the hardest thing you have to do in you car is a right turn at a junction.
where as over here there are islands to navigate and also gears to change (yes we pretty much ALL drive stick  )
so please keep the stupid comments to yourselfs.

its because of tax, this is why!

$700k for a 3 bedroom house isn't too bad. thats what a 1 or 2 bedroom house will cost you here, 2 bedroom is easily over 1M depending on the district.

yeah, it's very expensive round here it costs up to £50 for a 360 game which is $94. ps3 games i think are gonna cost £60 which is $112. and something i'd like to point out houses are something like 5 times more, you americans get houses for nothing. for example if you wanted a noral sized house 4 bedrooms etc you'd be paying something like £200,000 as an estimate which is $376,000.

I'm might be wrong, ask some other british people :D

PS3 games are gonna cost £50. But houses with 4 bedrooms in the middle of London or Belfast etc, would cost ya at least £300,000+.

A four bedroom house for 376k? Yea, maybe 8 years ago. Where I live a decent 4 bedroom house will set you back anywhere from a million-1.4.

yeah american's have massive house's most american's seems to be rich compared to people in the UK how big is an average sized bedroom? and how big is an avarage sized proberty like a gardon?

It depends on the house. Lots of the older and bigger custom houses had pretty good sized bedrooms. Now these new track homes will usually compromise on the size of the bedrooms. Some of the bedrooms in track homes are probably anywhere around 14 to 20 feet by 14 to 20 feet or sometimes smaller. Companies are putting up track homes at an astonishing rate so that is probably the average sized bedroom (not including the master suite). Mine personally is probably 30ish by 35 or so.

What do you mean by proberty or gardon? Are you referring the actual house size or the lot? I'll answer both. Lots can vary. Some of the old houses on the street have lots of about a 3rd of an acre and the houses are no bigger than 2100 square feet. (A rough estimate) The track homes can sometimes be bigger like 3-4000 square feet but they still have tiny cramped lots of about a 5th of an acre at most. Some track home communities around here have houses upwards of about 6,000 square feet but still a tiny lot of about a 5th of an acre. Most towns/cities have their nice areas of custom homes. In my area each house sits on a 1.5-4 acre lot and the homes range anywhere from 6,000 to 13,000+ square feet. There are also some neighboring areas with houses around 15,000-25,000 square feet. I can provide pics if you would like. I believe I answered your questions. Any more? :p
