I love my Xbox 360 (http://www.slashgear.com/microsoft-adds-addional-cooling-to-xbox-360-135726.php#), and I hope that I never have to turn it on one day to see the red ring of death. Sadly, that’s something that I think every 360 owner worries about from time to time.

One cause of this horrible death is by heat. Sometimes from the 360 just getting too hot. Sometimes other consoles just have it out for your Xbox (http://www.slashgear.com/ps3-vs-xbox-360-livingroom-showdown-045051.php). Either way, we know that it could use some additional cooling. From the looks of this 360, Microsoft (http://www.slashgear.com/microsoft-adds-addional-cooling-to-xbox-360-135726.php#) has finally decided to add a second GPU cooler to the console.
Unfortunately, we don’t know if they are adding these to new units, or simply ones that were in need of repair. We’ll let you know when we find out more.

Nice post. With that extra sink and the 65nm chip I am sure there wont be any red lights on the new 360s comming out.

I hope not. What type of cooling did you add to the chip?

I saw this on another site. Too bad it we won't be able to benefit from this unless they offer it to existing owners.

In some countries, Microsoft will fit these cooling features into existing consoles free of charge. No word yet as to whether the UK will be one of those lucky territories.
