World of Warcraft patch 4.3 is now available on Public Test Realms (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=20532), meaning that existing WoW players can download a separate build of the game and go play with what's essentially an early beta of the 4.3 content patch. Getting to the PTR stage means that a lot of new information is available for the patch, even though some of it is subject to change in the month or two we're likely going to have to wait for the actual release.
4.3 will bring a lot of new content to WoW, as well as some completely new game features. Perhaps the most exciting (or frustrating, depending on your view on the feature) is the Transmogrification feature, which will allow you to make an item look like a another item, within certain restrictions. The items will need to have stats (aside form armor), be of the same type (cloth chest - cloth chest), not be legendaries or heirlooms, and a whole bunch of other restrictions and exceptions (http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/2463-Patch-4.3-Raid-Preview-Dragon-Soul). I'm quite excited for my hunter, as the poor thing will finally be able to look like something besides Peter Pan, as well as get that annoying sounding gun to be like a bow (one of the exceptions). Transmogrification will also bring with it Void Storage, which is basically a long term storage option for items that you might want to keep for transmogrification purposes.
Another new feature is the Raid Finder, which will essentially be a Dungeon Finder for raids. Raids will be easier when accessed through this feature, and any loot that drops will have a lower item level than the normal and heroic versions, adding a third version to the tier - of which there will also be a new one, Tier 13. Right now we have Tier 11 normal and heroic at ilv 359 and 372 respectively and Tier 12 normal and heroic at ilv 378 and 391 respectively. The first batches of item data from the PTR shows crafted items at ilv 391 and dungeon drops at 378, so I would venture a guess that tier 13 will be divided into ilv 391 RF, 397 normal and 410 heroic, with tier 12 gear becoming Justice Point items. PVP gear has been datamined and can be explored to your heart's content on wowhead (http://ptr.wowhead.com/), and those sets will definitely got to 410 for elite season 11 gear.
As for pure content, there will be a lot of that too. As I've already mentioned in passing, PVP will get season 11 gear and PVE will get Tier 13. New 5 man dungeons, new raid - which includes the Deathwing encounter. New crafted items, new pets, and two new spectral mounts. Darkmoon Faire will also get its own island and be "reinvented" in some way. 4.3 will also have a new legendary item, this time in form of an epic dagger for rogues.
Personally I'll leave the PTR be and wait for the proper release, but I will be keeping an eye on what's going on through videos and information. A lot of people have left WOW since Cataclysm, and maybe the new raid finder and transmogrification feature will give them a reason to come back.
