i cant be arsed to d/load tbh, but id expect the 360 will have slightly better graphics as it has a 12 month head start, and devs always take time to fully utilise a machines full hardware capability.
though there will not be a huge difference between the 2.
im still waiting patiently 'til march for ps3 to make its uk bow, seems a long time away as most of the world will have it first, as usual :(

Truthfully, the graphics won't look much different even a year from now. With both consoles supporting 1080p now, we'll be almost comparing oranges to oranges.

As far as the 360 having a head start, and being fully utilized. Yes, they've had a years head start. No, they aren't utilizing the 360s full potential. It'll be at least 3rd gen games that look like they are truly "next-gen".

We'll also be able to see who is using better FPS with their respective console. Since both display the same resolution, and the fact that you can't really tell the difference between 1080i and 1080p on a 42" tele, from 7 feet away (point is mute now that both systems can do 1080p), it will really be up to the developers to take their games to that next level. Both systems are capable of providing astonishing realistic gameplay, graphics, and sound. Anything less than that, it will be a ported game that wasn't really meant to look or feel "next-gen".

Once we see some of the same games, on the same tv's, then we can actually judge which system looks better.

The Xbox 360 has been out for a year, giving developers more time to adapt to the 360's abilities. While the Ps3 is new thus it takes more time to utilize the full capacity of the CPU arhitecture and GPU. So improvements in graphics CAN occur

Wow, graphics are very identical. If there is any difference I would have to say that the 360's graphics were slightly better.

I was just at Target and they had the PS3 set up and playing NBA live 07. I saw the graphics and you know what? Meehh, nothing special. I think the same as my 360. I think my 360 looks better. Blue Ray? Pooh Ray. Once Xbox release's the HD DVD you can buy that if you really want a hiDef player. I am so glad I didnt choose the ps3 over my 360. I just wanted to see Gran Turismo on Ps3. Guess I'll wait for the new Forza. Sorry Sony. You bit the big one on this!

They are 1st gen games. Look at the Xbox 360's first gen games. Not very good but now they improved. The game developers for sony must unlock the full potential for the Cell CPU and the RSX

Hell...Project 8 isn't even 1080p

Someone call Activision and let 'em know that 720p means 1280x720, please. Games-Aktuell, a German gaming outlet, has discovered that Call of Duty 3 and Tony Hawk's Project 8 are not running at a 720p high-def resolution.

When the tests were run, CoD3 was shown to be running at 1040x620 pixels and THP8 at 1040x584 pixels. The pixel drop reflects a resolution drop of 30% and 34%, respectively. The resolution drop could be assumed to help keep framerates up, but THP8 reportedly has framerate problems. So what's up?


Note: It's not the first time we see this happen on the 360 ... PGR3 is known to run sub-720p (1280x600) too.

the recent 360 update brought all previous games up to a 1080p resolution... and try running GOW on a regular xbox, def not possible!

Lots of opinions are dumb, like yours, seeing as you are just straight up saying false statements about systems. I do agree with you that the Wii will be good, but the 360 is also very good.

I think that few people will want the PS3, and people will buy the "Wii60" combo, as am I.

I said they don't look MUCH better than current gen systems, and they don't. I played my cousins X-Box 360 a few weeks ago, and I played Tony Hawk [Don't know which version, there's been like a million.] and I wasn't impressed.

Neither look that fantastic. Considering I don't have an HDTV it won't look that much better.

The 360 wasteland was a port of the ps2 version basically, that would be why.
