Has the PSP 3000 firmware been hacked yet? My buddy just picked one up and I was looking to see what we can do to it.

From what I've heard, it hasn't been hacked yet. Datel released a tool battery that supposedly worked like a Pandora battery, but it bricks the PSP. Dark Alex has said that he is continuing his work on the PSP 3000, trying to hack it.

Well it appears as though they are starting to hack the PSP 3000. They have taken advantage of a vulnerability when loading save games on a game called GripShift. So far they have released a pong game and a clone of Bomberman using the Gripshift exploit.

Awesome, thanks for the update. I found something that you plug into the psp300 that gives you access to downgrade the firmware. I can't remember what it's called but it runs about $30

It sounds like you may be referring to the Tool Battery/Datel Battery, eh..?

Yup, that's it.

I have heard that they don't work. It'd be better to buy a modded battery and magic memory stick on eBay or something.
