Modding My 360

So I decided to mod my 360 this weekend, and need some help witht he supplies I need.

I already have the torx srewdriver for opening it up.

I need to know what tool i would use to cut wholes for plexi glass.

And what size are the fans in the back, 80mm? Also where do the fans connect to on the motherboard, is it a 3 or 4 pin?

Dremel or jigsaw or another type of cutting tool.some files and sandpaper


60mm fans.its a 4 pin connector if u just want to put some led fans in get the whisper fans.there just plug and play..


and u better keep us updated ;)

Thanks dude. I want to put maybe one fan on the GPU's heatsink, and replace the two in the back with new ones.

all fans are gonna have green leds :)

Nice they make replacement fans (whisper fans) with the green leds



For te gpu u have to get a 50mmx 10mm to fit in the tight space..


And im confused on the last part there is 1 slot for the fan its a 4 pin type plug that u plug the fans into im pretty sure theres only one..


If u need more power like 12v or 5v or sumtin ur gonna have to solder to the motherboerd..

Thats if u need to power ANYTHING...Also do not wire anything other then the stock fans into the fan plug it can be blown easily if ur gonna replace fans and add a faN then plug ur fans in and get the power from the sources i told u..



DO NOT SOLDER TO THE FAN PLUG AND THE DVD HARNESS!

Hmm, I think i'll just stick with green led whisper fans in the back :p

and just a clear top, i dont want to go crazy, as Im ona budget also.

Ok so, I really dont feel like cutting my case, I sort of ryffed it up just opening it up :P

But I decided just to go with the two back fans with leds, and buy a new case.

So does anyone know a good site for cases?

LOL, Just take your stock fans otu and plug the whispers in no need to wire anything

I just noticed how hot the heatsink and dvd drive get. Wow.

Anyways, what kind of paint could I use on my case?

Ok, I finally made up my mind :p

Today I took apart my 360.

Tomorrow Im sanding the case and cutting it.

I just ordered a 40mm fan (12v), and of course the whisper fans.

Should end up looking like this:

Well, Im not going to say its done, because I just started on it like 3 hours ago. But its cut, and glassed.

Its not going to turn out like the above picture.. because i decided not to paint it.

And instead of red lights, Im getting green.

I have to go back into the garage, Im letting the poxy dry. Then Im going to paint a border around the glass.

Youll see the outcome in another hour :)

If you look close you can see a bit of it. But for a free-hand cut, i think it turned out well.

And in the middle of the plexi Im looking for a nice decal to go with it.

I'll update pics as I get the stuff.

Cut looks good but could use some more sanding to straighten those edges a little. I order lots of parts from Divineo. Shipping take a while because the items are coming from Canada. I am still waiting for some green fans I ordered a week or so ago. And if you arent home when the delivery guy shows up they will send your items back to Canada and then make you pay shipping again to return it.
