Ok, so as some of you know....I use my 360 on a BenQ FP202W 20" LCD Monitor. I once played a movie in my 360 and it looked terrible. It looked extremely dark. The movie was Stay Alive. But, I just played Wedding Crashers and it looks fine. I am looking into buying the HD-DVD drive but I am unsure as if it will be a waste of money. The games look really good on the screen although the resolution is not supported on the 360 (1680 x 1050 Native) I really want HD-DVD, so anyone know if it will still look really nice?

Lets see here...
Regular DVD's 480i.
HD HVD 720p
2.5 times the resolution, it'll look great. Compare analog TV to HDTV and you will see.
Set your Xbox 360 to 720p by the way.
Answer: Yes, it will look great!

My Monitor supports HD reoslutions..1680 x 1050 Native. and the hd-dvd drive itself doesnt need a specific cable...mine is a HD VGA.

I bought one too. Too bad it's backordered. Question, are those upconverting DVD players good?

Good idea! I will show you a comparison of the same movie. One in standard DVD format and the other in HD. Most likely King Kong.

The Xbox HD-DVD can output in 1080i(30fps), 1080p(60fps), and 1080p(24fps). You'll only be limited to the res your tv can display. If you have a plasma, you'll likely just scale the 1080p24 down to 720p24, and you won't even be able to tell the difference unless you have a 50+ tv 7 feet in front of you lol.
