The "This is NOT Your Grandad's Video Game" paragraph is especially useful. Do I have to conclude that I can't get addicted to Pong? I'm gonna get back to oldies...

Video games are like anything- fine in moderation. Honestly, I spend perhaps....10-20 hours a week playing video games (most of that time on the weekend or after school, work, social gatherings etc), but I do not exhibit these behaviors. I think its not so much the video games themselves, but the kind of environment children grow up in which would support such addictive gameplay mechanics. If parents are neglectful, the child may turn to videogames for amusement, but if the parents spend quality time with their children and help them see the world, they won't necessarily become addicted.
