Ok for the people that have no warranty and get the 3RROD i recommend this fix so much.

Just got my 6th RROD console and fxed it within in 10 minutes

Ive gotten 6 broken ones ive bought from ebay and fixed evrey single one of them. They will be re put on ebay for a nice profit.

6 broken consoles - 6 fixes 100%

Yeah, thats the most common issue with RROD Xboxes. It overheats, and the solder from the points detaches, leaving you with a useless console. Why? Because your X-Clamps are too tight. This is a very good fix for people with voided warranties. Of course you could just skip the middle man and put a cooling mod on there to begin with, like my 120mm fan. Man that thing keeps it fucking cool.

Unless I'm mistaken, all the fixes Lethal has done are at 100% as well. I'm sure he'll chime in when he's done playing with pop sickle sticks.

I still dont know about the x clamp mod. Once you reach the 3ROD the chip has already been damaged by the heat. My mods prevent anything like that happening in the first place. Yes you can temporarely fix the 3ROD with the xclamp fix but from experience I have noticed sluggish graphics where a console that has never had the 3ROD seems to show better performance. I also have done an xclamp mod for someone and the console worked for maybe a month until it happened again. Its merely a temporary fix in my opinion and I would never ever keep a console that ever had the 3ROD. Nor would I ever buy one.

Mine has been going 6 months since it went down with RROD with no hiccups at all. Seriously not one graphical glitch or even a freeze. The chips itself arent damaged , well i mean surely they cant be or they wouldnt work. I dont think the issue is the heat itself. I think the chips can take the heat but obviously the tight X clamps cant and thats what flexes the board and messes up the soilder points.

Thats what the theroy is on xbox-scene is anyway.

The best thing to do if you get 3red lights, is the x clamp mod, but also sending out your motherboard to get professionally re-flowed and the gpu re-balled.. Also if your stupid enough to have had 3red lights and revived it and still continue to use it regularly with no additional cooling upgrades, thats just wrong.

Im lost with out modding my console, do any of you guys have cheap console for sale? lol I need another one to mod.

Gues im stupid! i never had a console go RR0D on me i just buy them broken. The one i have now is 6 months+ and going strong with no upgrades. I dont see the point in me investing in fans and doing volt mods. If this one goes down. I just gut it out on ebay and easily make back the money i paid for it. And just buy aother broken one and still have money to spare.

Very wrong. Just like a pc when the chips get to hot with say overlocking you are adding heat to the chips where the chips life is shortened and sometimes damaged. Same with the 360. Once a chip gets so hot that it causes a failure you can pretty much bet that chip has some kind of damage done to it. Whether the chips life has been cut in half or the graphics tend to slow down or whatever. There is nothing that can be said that would convince me that a chip that got so hot it caused a shutdown and didnt obtain some kind of damage. You may not notice it right now but who is to say that next week it wont just give up on you.

There is another fix out there that is a lot quicker (Not as professional) that i did called the Penny fix. You can google it. all it takes is some double sided stick pads and 8 pennies. I had the 3RLOD but did the penny fix and my xbox has been running perfectly now for about 7 months and counting
