Well I have been playing this game for about a week, it's fun, but not as amazing as everybody claims. The first thing that put me off about this game is the fact that is not entirely set back in the day. You're in a laboratory reliving your ancestors memories, which seems kind of dumb, but that's just me. Now on to the actual game. The plot is fairly normal. You start out as Altair, you're an assassin but then you're a dumbass and get all of your weapons taken away and have to gain everything back by completing a series of tasks (assassinations). These assassinations are the main reason I don't like the game. It's the same thing over and over. You have to ride your horse to a city, help somebody, then he gets you into the city. After that you go to the Assassins beauro and talk to somebody and he tells you what to do, it's always the same thing. You pickpocket somebody, eavesdrop on people then go kill a guy. After you kill him you have to hear him talk about things you don't care about, then he dies. Then you run. Once you asassinate somebody you have to go back to the assassins headquarters (which in on top of a fucking mountain) and hear a guy talk to you some more. That's pretty much the premise of the games
Wrap-up:
Gameplay: 8/10
Pretty solid here. The controls work well, same with the climbing
Concept: 5/10
Not a bad idea. But it pretty much got killed in the process. Everything works fluidly, it's just reused way too constantly. You climb to the top of buildings, look at some shit and jump down into some hay. Then you go pick pocket and kill a guy. Rinse, repeat.
Also, if you walk quietly on your horse or on feet then the guards realize you're up to no good and try to kill you, BUT if you walk while holding a button (and at a slightly slower pace) they realize you're fine. What the fuck?
Graphics: 9.5/10
Nice
Sound 7/10
No reused voices really. But they constantly repeat the same dialog. When you save a guy, or do anything else. He either thanks you and goes and tells the town, or says he's going to hide in his house. Also A LOT of talking, nowhere near as much as super paper mario though.
Overall:
7.3/10
Good, but not all it's cracked up to be. Give it a rent.
