I think that's how it was supposed to work, according to slickdeals, only people who have been a member of XBL from the start get to get 500ms points free, not everyone, good luck though maybe this is a loophole?

what if i make a bunch of new accounts... say 10 to get 5000 points and dl a bunch of stuff?

Cant transfer points across accounts, unfortunately.

not transfer , but you could download like all the themes, once its on your hd anyone can use them i think. Plus you could use for movies.

Is there a place you can see how long you have been a member? If i remember correct i have been with them since the start or the xmas following so all but one month of xbox live

Maybe I read it wrong but on the news scroll at the bottom of Attack of the show on G4TV I swore it said that the 5 members from 2002 will get the points. I could be way off but I swear it said that...
