Why should I buy a 360?

My question is simple. Why should I buy an Xbox 360?

As Christmas is rolling around the corner I will be looking to purchase a new system for my self (shortly after Christmas) and I have come to a fork in the road. I can go with a 360 now or wait months to get my hands on the ps3. I love the look of the 360, the controller feels very nice in my hands, the graphics are far superior to my ps2 and the games are pretty good.

From what I have said so far it would seem like a no brainer that I should go with the 360, however, the other day I got a chance to play the ps3 and the graphics blew me away. I have always been a Sony guy but I like all systems. The ps3 will be coming out with some pretty sweet games, and that is another reason I am undecided about my upcoming purchase.

So, why should I go with a 360? Help me out guys. In your eyes are there any blatantly obvious reasons why I should get a 360 over a ps3? Although the money isn’t an issue for me, I have heard talk of a price drop for the 360. Can anybody confirm this for me? Anyways, thanks for your help.

First off, It's cheaper. If you wanted to pay the extra for HD movies....you can have the choice. Buy the $200 HD-DVD drive.

2nd, Great games are already out, PS3 just has launch games.

3rd, the bugs are gone. the abbreviation Ps2 should answer this one.

2. It has relitively the same graphic power.
3. There are great games out.
4. The Playstation 3 SixAxis controller can get out of control sometimes.
5. Online play is far better.
6. It can support 1080P

I would say try out the PS3 at a local EB Games then play an Xbox360 and see what you like more. But IMO I thought the Xbox360 was better than the PS3 by the graphics and interface, also by the looks of the console.

I would go with 360, mainly because of the ps3 controller. I never liked the Sony controllers due to the placement of the analog sticks, but this one takes the cake. They take the rumble out and which makes it way too light, it feels cheap as hell, like it's going to break in your hands, and the "triggers" suck, there's no resistance so your fingers slide right off. And apparently the online interface is crap.

How are you able to tell me my own feelings? I playing some full auto (off road) game and I thought the graphics were better than any game I have played on the 360.

MS has already dominated on-line gaming. The central server provided by MS for 50.00/year will work way better than PS3's free service that has to be provided by each individual game developer.

All of those games + many more have much better graphics than that off-road game. I played it at CC on a 36" Sony plasma and it looked like utter crap to me. Although it may have been the employees fault if they didnt plug in the HD cables right or have the TV configured wrong, but to me it looked BAD.

It might have been the employees fault. The game looked amazing to me. And yes, I have played all of those games except Gears of War.

Alright, thanks to all the help I have come to the conclusion that I will get a 360. Maybe when all the bugs are worked out of the ps3 I'll pick one up too. I guess for now I'm an MS man. :D

The Wii has 2 games that are worth a damn. Zelda and the Wii Sports it came with. It doesnt play DVDs nor does it display in anything higher than last gens 420p. It has maybe 2 games worth buying over VC and thats Legend of Zelda and Mario 64. I just dont see how you can be a Wii fanboy lol.

It's not about the graphics, or the dvd capabilities that make the wii so appealing, it's the the fact that the games are all motion censored. When looking at the papers, the wii might not seem to be an appealing system, but the number of sales says otherwise. With Nintendo's great line up of games (not necessarily the launch titles) paired with a considerably lower price than the other two systems I can see why he is a fan boy. I'm surprised you have not thought about that. No worries though. Comments like "I know why! Don't get a 360!" are completely disregarded by me. :D I'm still excited about the 360 I'm getting!

Definently get Elder Scrolls Oblivion. It is the must have game for the 360. It has won many game of the year awards which should tell you enough how great it is.
