After reading a few reviews on gamespot I decided to write my own here. Well this isnt just another man VS alien game. This game has an outstanding story to go with it. I dont want to give much away because alot of the excitement comes from finding out whats unfolding. At one point you and your squad are overcome by these little bugs that look like the bugs from the Mummy movie. You know the ones that eat you from the inside out. Anyways, these bugs actually infect you with a disease and put you into a coma. But you happen to wake up from it and for some reason you have a resistance to the infection. Now you are still infected and after a while you start to feel the effects. Now the first hour of the game isnt really exciting and you really dont know whats going on. But once you get infected the game does a 180 on you. This is by far one of the best FPS games I have ever played!
*NOTE* Resistance has a high display of 720p. If you do not check mark all displays in your PS3 console settings then the game will automatically run in 480i and will look like crap.
GRAPHICS
The game is very nice looking. Its no Gears of War in the graphics department but for a release game on a new machine this isnt bad at all. Better than any 360 game on its release date.
SOUND
Outstanding sound effects! With surround sound you can hear whos being shot at and from which direction. You can hear when a swarm of enemies is comming from the East and you can hear the ship coming to drop reinforcements from the sky.
VALUE
Not only does this game boast a ridiculously long single player campaign it also has a great 1-40 player multiplayer option. The fun never stops.
OVERALL
If you have a PS3 then you should have this title. It takes an hour before this game really takes off and I dont think many people waited that long to give it a chance. If I were to rate this game 1-10 I would have to rate it a 9.5 Its that good.
