Now I don't own a Wii but I am a really huge fan of the Metroid Prime series. I might buy a Wii just for this game. It is getting really good reviews and I would like to hear what those that have played it, think about it.
IGN gave it a 9.5 and Gametrailers gave it a 9.6.

It has a better rating on GameTrailers than any of the Halo games......
This thing looks incredible! And it might make Lethal less anal about the Wii :P

Yeah, this game shows that you can have really good controls for an FPS game on the Wii.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess got scores over 9.0.
Anyways, I am really tempted to buy a Wii for Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess, and the upcoming Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros. games.

Gamespot gave it a 8.9. What other game is over 9??
Gamespot rates this game an 8.5

Gamespot is very harsh and critical in its reviews. Gamespot also gave Bioshock a 9.0

I hate Gamespot. I've never gotten an accurate review from them.

I agree with 95% of their reviews.
I just played Metroid Prime 3. Its not a bad game. The controls are a tad too loose but probably better than any FPS game on the Wii. It gets a tad frustrating trying to aim because you have to sometimes aim very slowly to hit the targets on walls etc. The graphics are pretty nice too but nothing that the Gamecube didnt already do. I really wish this game came out on the Gamecube because I think it would have gotten a better score if you werent forced to use the wiimote. A fun game none the less.

You're wrong.
IGN gave it a higher score because of it, go into settings, there's 3 sensitivity settings. Change them.

Yeah, you want to make sure that the controls are set at advanced.

What the hell you mean im wrong? I know all about the settings. Dont tell me how I feel about the game. The controls on any setting are a bit frustrating to aim as quickly as an analog. Though the game sports an insane amount of auto aim. I said its a fun game but after a while the controls will make you want to stop playing for a while.

Well I like it, but I agree with Lethal, the controls are too loose, but that fight with Riley was pretty damn cool. So far I'd give it like an 8/10

This goes to show that the wii is for casual gamers
no hardened halo fan would trade halo 3 for this
no hardened GTA fan would trade GTA 4 for this
no hardened fan would trade anything for this
it's a LIGHT shooter

The thing about this game though is that if it used a standard controller I think this game could really compete with Halo 3. The controls are the only drawback. The Wii really should make the sensor optional. Actually, developers should make the sensor optional.

Metroid is an adventure game, the primary objective of a Metroid title to explore, though its been dumbed down a bit and the difficulty has been nerfed. I still dont feel like I play Halo and Metroid for the same reasons.

i love halo, and i love metroid both for different reasons, but if i had to choose?
Hands Down metroid. I dont have any problems with the controls...the controls for the xbox halo's suck ass... the wii has much more of a pc style control scheme that i am loving.

I have this game.. I bought it the day it came out and I am still playing it. I beat it on easy quickly enough, but now on normal I die on each boss at least once before I really figure them out. The controls are perfect, I think, and I can hit targets quickly even the small ones, guess that's just from Wiixperience. :D
As far as comparing Metroid to Halo, there is no comparison. A series that is about as old as Nintendo and has games on every system Nintendo has ever made (except N64, I'm still grumbling about that. and Virtual Boy but that doesnt count) has no comparison to a newer FPS that has only 2 games (soon 3, I know). Halo 1 was good. Halo 2 was WAY too short. I beat it all the way through on normal my first try without dying in two days and havent played it since. I dont expect anything great of Halo 3. Besides that, Super Metroid is still a game that I can pick up and play all the way through without getting bored and the same goes for the remake of it for the GBA, Metroid Zero Mission.
Ok, I'm done ranting. LOL

Nice, I am going to be picking up Metroid 3 today and finally playing that sucker. I have been waiting a bit for more games on the Wii so I could start playing games back to back. Such as Medal of Honor 2: Heroes, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros Brawl etc. Here's to a great game!!!

That's because their are no real flaws in the game. I love this game and it is amazing. The Wii-Mote takes some practice but after playing a few shooters you will be hitting everything a lot faster than you used to with the traditional analog controls.
