Have you noticed that if you go on the member list and look at how many posts they have all done, most people haven't even posted once. What's the point in signing up and not even posting?

Lots of forums about 50% don't post, just sign up to be able to read certain forums or just because they think they'll post.
I think it'll be a lot more popular in a couple of months with the launch of the 360.

I would say a lot less than 50%...more like 10-20% actually post while the rest just browse.

Hmmm, I wonder why. You think that there would be more commotion on boards considering new systems are coming out.
My old bards were VERY active until they were killed by spammers and a hacker. Then everyone spread out to different forums and we declared "war" on the spammers. We ended up making peace but we destroyed 2 of his boards in the war lol.
The forum in my signature is pretty active. I mean, we only have around 75 members but around 75% of people post there.

Well you could always join my forum for up to date posting fun
I just wish more people posted here. Almost 200 people here and how many post? I've seen maybe round 10 or 20. Quite sad really.

Yeah true. I just see some other 360 sites that appear more active. I guess it's time for a contest or something.

good idea but you should have a minimal post entry.
"user must have 50 posts to enter"
something along those lines...
you should also add an ad on PSPF about this forum...
...just a few thoughts.

why would u want a 50 post requirement when u dont even have that yet?
hollaz2alex

because it filters the lurkers from the REAL users.
and it's not like it takes that long to reach 5O PRODUCTIVE posts.

well it could take a while if u run out of good things to say lol, but ur right 50 isn't that big of a number, 100 posts would be too much, but 50 would work

The best way to beef up a forum fast is a page one ranking on google... If I knew how to get you that I would have my own forum but yeah.
Here's my suggestionsL
1. Start a contest for a game, accessory, or cash, you will get one entry for every post made from the starting date (Not total posts because that will cater to current active posters and your trying to get new one’s).
2. Make a refferal costest the person who refers the most members with x number posts or more will get a prize or cash.

I went to a forum that paid 1 penny per post with a five dollar payout. It's not a bad systeme you only ever need to pay people who have made more that 500 posts but most people understand the fact that there never really going to make any money from it so I don't think that one works so great.
Another posibility is to combine my first two suggestions making a raffle contest were you get one entry for every active refferal to the forum.

Last 2 posts are some amazing ideas.
I think some sort of prizes would be good.
I will recommend lots of my friends to this site if they are getting 360's and also make sure they post allot of good posts.
