XBOX Live: Is it worth it?

I currently have dial-up and would like to have broad band. Would it be worth getting all of that just to play XBOX Live? I do other things than play games so I think I would waste my money if i got it. So is it worht it and how much does Live cost?

It will be worthed in my point of view, Xbox LIVE is currently 49.99 dlls for 12 months of subscription. It is worthed because it has a unified server. (playstation doesnt have one, so every company/developer set its own online system) you will have a marketplace, free download, tournaments, friends list, voice chat, clans, ect. It is very worthed, and its just about 5 dlls a month.

Yes, I have had it for a little less than a year and I absolutely love it. It was the best thing I ever did besides buy and Xbox. My subscription plan will be running out soon so I will be renewing it.
