This is the first I've heard of this and I'm pissed. To clarify for later, this is a general, "I hate Sony, they buy all the rights to anything so you have to buy their crappy PS" rant. Remeber a game called Dragon Force for the Sega Saturn? I was a game produced by WorkingDesigns, a company noted for all of it's work with the Sega console line. Well.....seems as though there is a remake for the PS on some classic collection. This chaps my butt! I can see Sony buy the rights to alot of games to keep them off the Rev, Evo, DS and Xbox to keep their gunboat of a turd console and portable from sinking ot the bottom of the bowl! See, there is a reason I don't like Sony, I'm not just a fanboy.

I made a similar post. Sony is only sucessful because of the games that they have the rights to. If Nintendo retained control of the FF and Megaman series... Castlevannia too, then there is no way Sony would be were it is today.

This isn't true. FF was written to Sony AFTER the playstation was released. Square decided that the Playstation was it's best platform for FF7. Nintendo messed up with that damn N64 cart based system. After FF7 did so well....Square was happy as hell to make a deal with Sony for exclusion. FF7 sold better than any previous version. The installed based for the PSX was great.

Please know your game history. The playstation was supposed to be a Nintendo system jointly manufactured with Sony until NINTENDO screwed the deal and told SONY to bug off. Nintendo backstabbed Sony in the middle of everything.

Sony of course decided to go ahead with their plans and just release the Playstation without Nintendo. That was something they didn't expect. Nintendo was a monopoly on gaming for years. They used some strong arm tactics in many cases. They were suing and being sued all the time. Blockbuster, Game Shark, and others....Retailers were sick of the Nintendo tactics and so was the developers.

There are a few good books to read on the subject. I suggest you get one.
