Okay, poll time, which of you here at NINTENDOdsforums.com are Sony fanboys? Okay, how many of you are Nintendo fanboys? How many of you are just gamers? How many of you don't care? How many of you just want me to shut up?

I can't say I'm a fanboy because I have Xbox, Gcube, and PS2. I just picked gamer.

I guess I could be considered somewhat of a Xbox fanboy. It's my favorite system and is the best one out there, IMO. I'm a Sony hater, and I've always liked Nintendo, but never loved them.

See, but heres the problem. The systems may have better qualities then others. Xbox happens to have the best graphics and loading speed then the others. But you can't rule out the other systems because of this. They all have their own types of games, making them all good. The problem is that no one looks at it this way and then harp on the other ones saying things like "they suck" or "This one's better", when in reality they just don't want to except the truth, All the systems are good in their own way.

im so glad there is another person like this on the planet. i will admit i am biased, but i still feel that each system has its unique strengths and weaknesses.

I'm a huge FPS fan, and without my Xbox, I'd barely get to play any good games.

See, this is what we consider a "fanboy." Like I said, Xbox may have better loading speed and graphics, but just because of that you can't rule out the games on the other systems. Saying that you don't get to play good games on the other systems is wrong because I can assure you that thats not true.

Alllllright, well, I am going to have to agree with Ashwinder, my Waffle, you are being a fanboy there. I have to agree with Ash again on the issue of his unbiased opinion on the systems. I am a DS player, I had a cube, still have a PS1, Saturn, Virtual Boy, yes, I have one, bought it for kicks reel cheap$...I've played the Sega Master and Mega Driive enough to have a decent opinion on the systems along with the NES and SNES...A few systems I've played but don't have a tremendous about of experience with is the Dreamcast, PS2 and Xbox, to let you know my background. Now, I've seen a huge trend that alot to people are obsessed about. The issue is graphics, graphics and more graphics.....I know that good graphics are great, but I am more of a "game" gamer....I.E. FF classics, Phantasy Star 1 through 4, the Shining Series, Soul Blazer series, Zelda series....As you can tell, I am a big rpg fan, don't get me wrong, I'm big into the old school fighters, StreetFighter series, Samuri Showdown series, the Capcom fighting titles minus Darkstalkers, big fan of Rival Schools....But the point I am getting to is that I was hooked on the games that really get you hooked and keep you there for along time and have a decent replay value....But one thing I am enjoying about the DS is the innovation with the two screens and the touch screen...When I played Super Mario 64 DS, I was blown away! Madden was pretty fun, oh yeah, I'm a football game fan too, mainly I just stick to like Maddem, sometimes Blitz, but it looks like we won't see anymore Blitz titles anyways, gotta love EA huh? And then the last game I bought, which is Feel the Magic, well, very, very interesting, again with the innovation with the built in mic....But if you take a look at the current systems....The Cube, decent console, little, sleek, sexy and purple?LOL The lineup is damn good if you are an oldschool fan like me....Nothing like seeing a great 3d port of Metroid and Starfox...I will say that the graphics, for the most part with the 1 party games, were very solid, I.E. WindWaker....I do perfer the Cube controller over the other two...Now, it doesn't have the audio and DVD playback like the other two, but hell, Nintendo wanted a gaming system...Now, the PS2, better graphics on 3 party games and the classic PS controller setup...The Xbox, hands down, but most people, the best of the graphics on all games, understanding the hardware, you would have to agree...But if you take a look at the games, the game content, not the graphics, that is where the systems differ....Xbox, well, it's posterchild, Halo, which is undesputed FPS king for console, it wouldn't touch Quake for PC....But the Xbox is heavy with FPS's then they somewhat jump in to stradegy/rpg but get their feet wet with sports....If you take a look at the PS2, it is a good mix of all genre's of games, mainly because Sony has bought a majority of all 3rd party developers......That's all I'm saying about Sony, but it is true...Then the Cube, a good variety of genre's but not an extremely full lineup...But I feel like Ash that all the systems have the pro's and con's..It's just what you want in a system.....

I know that good games are on other consoles, but the PS2 and GameCube seem to have very few good FPSs.

See but you have much better control over your character on the pc with the mouse.

Here's a new problem. A lot of people don't like the idea of the revolution having a touch screen controller. But think about this. What does your computer mouse do? It uses a laser or mouse ball to move the arrow on your computer. You say this gives you better control over your player on the computer than over game systems. But picture it this way though. What if, since everything is now becoming wireless, You had a computer mouse that was the size of a pen with a mini laser or ball on the end. Would that be different then moving a pen around on a touch screen. I mean, with it being a home system and all, you wouldn't be looking right above your hand at the top screen. You would have your other hand free for other bottons just as you would with your keyboard and mouse, and your eyes would be looking up at your t.v., just as if you were looking at the computer screen. So really, you can't rule out touch screen controllers. They may end up being easy to use or even more comfortable. So before anyone starts to choose their system before you actually get to play them, lets wait and see how they turn out, and not toss them aside because you think "it's stupid" or "it's not gonna work."
