Tomorrow I'm going to pick up some games for my new 360 and I want to get Saints Row, but I am not sure if I should just wait for GTA IV or not. I have a couple of questions (Regarding Saints Row) before I make my decision.

1. How are the graphics?
2. How is the size of the world as opposed to San Andreas?

Thanks for the help.

.... no one knows. It's going to be released about 8 months from now. I'm sure you can get one now and get GTA then.

Oh, sorry about that. Those questions are regrding Saints Row, not GTA. I edited my original post. That should clear things up a bit.

Get Saints Row, it's and awsome game especially online on XBL.

Nobody's played GTA IV yet so we don't know.

Get both, theres like 10 months left until GTA 4 comes out so I'm sure you will be able to save up for it.

Get Saints Row and you'll notice all the little things that the previous GTA's were missing.

The money is not the issue, I just don't want to end up with two games that are virtually the same.

Get Saints Row and you'll notice all the little things that the previous GTA's were missing.

Thanks. I think I'll go with Saints Row and then get the sequel if it ever comes out.

Well, GTA is the best free roaming game ever made, Saint's Row basically tweaks it a bit and adds shiny graphics. It lacks helicopters, planes, motorbikes and bicycles, you can't swim underwater and I dont think there are boats but I could be wrong. If you are only going to get 1, wait on GTA4 as it will probably be the best game of 2007.

Where it lacks helicopters, boats, etc (which it probably did intentionally to avoid being a dup of GTA) it adds other unique things. Mini-games (side missions) are much more fun imo. Recruit gang members to tag along with you on your missions. Ability to walk into any store, hold clerk and gun point and rob the store, much much better vehicle selection. The ability to steal (or buy) any car and pimp it out w/ hydraulics, rims, whatever. You can buy/smoke bongs, blunts, etc and buy/drink alcohol. I love it when your being chased in a car and you shoot the driver and the car goes veering off the road or over pedestrians. The list goes on... did GTA have any of that?

The things bolded and underlined, San Andreas had them. I also bolded the "Ability to walk into any store, hold clerk and gun point and rob the store" point cos you can do it in San Andreas, but not in EVERY store.

Go figure... the one GTA I didn't play, lol! I would still pick Saints Row over GTA

Well, yeah I suppose I would pick SR over San Andreas too, but only because SA is like, 2 or 3 years old, last gen, whereas Saints Row is Next-Gen and looks much nicer, also, I love ragdoll physics in games, theyre hilarious :D

On the plus though I think both are the winner b/c Saints Row will hold us over until GTA 4 and GTA has to be original/creative b/c they have competition now!

I bought Saints Row. I'm liking it. I have not played enough of it to make my final decision though, but so far it is very fun. :)

It took me awhile to figure a lot of stuff out... like robbing stores and looking around the city for phone #'s to call (i.e. taxi's have a "555" #. Call that number when you need a ride and they'll come pick you up. Dial 911 for an ambulance)

When were you ever able to rob stores in SA?

Taking people hostage is pretty fun. :D

Yea, there is alot of stuff to figure out. As I keep playing I'm sure I'll get the hang of everything.

If you liked San Andreas, you'll love Saints Row. I think Saints Row is much much better than San Andreas ever was, there is alot more to do, and you can customize your guy. I think its better because its more "dirty" there is alot more profainty and stuff.

Get Saints Row for now, and then get GTA IV when it comes out in like 9 months.

I already have Saints! I got it this morning. :D From what I have noticed, Saints is "dirty." I like it. I love the rag doll effect.

Yeah I didnt realize you posted that you bought it. Its a really fun game. There is alot of missons and side games.

One of my favorite side games is where you drive the prositute around while she works, and the little conversations are hilarious.

Have you tried the insurance fraud mission? If you like the ragdoll effects then you'll love this mission!

It takes a while to get used to it. You can get big points if you get in a little fast car and just ram on coming traffic head on. You'll fly out of the car and get big points.

Yea, when you press the start button you can go to your phone and call people. You can rob stores by going into the back and opening the safe.

Instead of going straight into the back and opening the safe yourself you can walk up to the store clerk w/ your gun drawn. Your guy will automatically point the gun at the clerk, the clerk will panic and you have to keep the gun reticule over them and follow them to the back of the store. They'll open the safe for you. If you lose sight of them they'll activate an alarm.

That's a good tip. I'll have to try it.
