i just thought id let you all know the revolution's new name is Wii, pronounced "we" if you dont believe me or would like to read the full story go here (http://planetgamecube.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=11362) or look around on this site (http://revolution.advancedmn.com/index.php) or goto any other site, its everywhere!

Its true, and its wierd. I think Nintendo is taking an extremely risky step here, but didnt they already do that by making the revolution in the first place? Nintendo is obviously not a place for careful people haha :wink:

I like the name though. Its easier to say than PS3 or Xbox 360. Wii!

i think i like it too, (it doesnt even need to be abreveated (sp?) like the GC or DS or PS3, XB, 360, nes, etc.) i like to think of the two "i"s as little people (like in nintendo's example) they r kool stick figs!!!

The word Wii kind of sounds like you need the toilet, could get annoying if people keep telling you to stop saying that you need to powder your nose hehe :lol:

lol, i thought of the same thing, but i think its a good name (people will get used to it in time)

I like it how they are using the word Wii instead of we on that site from BOB. It makes me feel like part of Nintendo! I'm all for the Nintendo Wii!

hahaha My friend was in complete denial of the new name. He said its wrong because Wii is stupid. I bet him 5 bucks that they changed the name :wink:

Well, the name won't affect my want for the system, but I think they should have stayed with the "Revoultion" name. W/e, Big N knows what they are doing...

If I get one I am sooooo goning to have to rename, everyone will have a right laugh at the thing, wrong impressions before evening playing, my friends and I will fall about laughing for like half an hour before "shall we play then?"

Maybe not where you live.. but me and my friends make fun of the 360 so much because its name implies a circle. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, but it makes the 360 seem sorta like a joke if you havent experienced its graphics. I seriously laughed whne I first heard Microsoft was naming its system after a circle.

lol, i can see why, but im sure with time we will all learn to like it. I mean, other console names have facinated the masses as well. Like playstation. Kind of a weird name if u think about it...

Yeah, and Gamecube magazines were calling the Xbox the SUXbox when it was announced. We'll all just have to get used to it.

its called the 360 to symbolize that the gamer is at the center of the action (look at the logo, there is a dot with a circle around it, the dot is suposed to be a gamer... but i think thats only on the controller and the actuall system...) if you think about it, 360 is a good name (as well as Wii, playstation, Gamecube, etc.) actually, i cant think of a single system that was poorly named (other than a few of SEGA's systems)
