Honestly,I've had this game reserved since June of last year.(Or was it the year before that?) I was kind of let down when they canceled the psp release, but as soon as I got my hands on this baby,I couldn't put it down.People who were let down with previous version of "Man of Steel" games, will not regret picking this game up.Myself,I've always been a Superman fan, even back when I was a child with superman underwear.(lol!) Anyway, back when they released the Spiderman 2 game and you were able to roam the city freely,I wondered if they could use these concepts on another superhero.Well they did and this game is great. Not only do they have you battling villians from the comics besides Lex Luthor, you also get to save people. And if you have a little extra time you can take the hurt people to an ambulance. So all in all,I believe the creators did a hell of a job with this one.Now if you excuse me I'm going to un-pause my Superman Returns game.
1) Graphics
Faces look exactly like the movie actors. The city is in detail and you can actually freeze, destroy, and burn buildings and cars as well as pick up any object that's able to be picked up.When you use any of you powers they have great special effects, such as;breaking sound barriers as you fly in super speed.
2) Comparison with other games
Like I said,It's like Spiderman 2 except Spiderman could never fly up in the sky on look down at all of Metropolis. It's definitely not anything like the old Superman games. The only thing they have in common is Superman.
3) Game sounds
In this game you not only have the actors from the movie doing the voice overs, but you also have Marlon Brando's voice for Jor-El.Also,another "cool" game sound is how when you're in the sky you can hear the voices of people in trouble. And after you save the city against the smallest or biggest bad guy,you hear civilians thanking you.I think the sound effects are very convincing and makes you feel like you're actually Superman and trying to protect a city.
4) Gameplay
I believe the gameplay is smooth, and great due to the factors I stated before.Controlling Superman has never been so easy with this game.Although you have to have quick reflexes to control Superman in super speed,it gets easier as you continue to get used to it.And even when you want to "push it to the limit",you can still used the "lock-on"(When you can automatically lock on a target.) feature and attack an enemy that's around. You also don't have to worry about the cheesy "every enemy dies the same way" type of game.In this game, even the simple enemies have different weaknesses.Such as robot's who shoot fire, ice,or have kryptonite in their body.
Here's an example of gameplay.

5) The Plot
Basically to be unique with your powers and protect Metropolis.

Here's an in detail description of the game.
"Superman Returns is a video game loosely based on the movie Superman Returns, developed by Electronic Arts-Tiburon in Orlando, Fla., in conjunction with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics. It features a story arc from the movie, which was released on June 28, 2006, and more than 60 years of comic book content. EA Tiburon, known for its Madden NFL game series, has claimed that the game combines strong creative vision and compelling new technology to deliver a powerful and emotional gaming experience to their consumers, and they will experience a real sense of flying while mastering Superman's superhero powers to save Metropolis.
In it, Superman combats Metallo, who does not appear in the movie, as well as other classic villains (including Mongul) as well as being able to play as Bizarro for a short period of time in one of the many minigames inserted into the game. The game was produced for the next-generation Xbox 360 as well as current generation platforms and handhelds although it was canceled for the PSP due to it not having enough power to support the game.
In the game, Superman is indestructible: no matter what happens to Superman in the game, he cannot be killed. But Metropolis isn't as fortunate, there is a damage meter - if too much damage is done to the city during a mission (in other words, if the damage meter is fully depleted) then the game ends. Superman has a stamina meter that depletes as more power is used. Players can fly Superman into the atmosphere and absorb sunlight to replenish the stamina meter faster, as performed by Superman many times in comic books.
In the game, the player is challenged to be creative with Superman's powers. To stop a burning building, for example, Superman could use his freeze breath and risk not being able to save all of the civilian casualties in time, or alternatively, he could pick up a fire truck and station it at a more convenient level (i.e. on top of a building adjacent to the burning one) for a faster extinguishing effect.
Amongst the various unlockables, there are alternate costumes (a 'Pod Suit' and 'Golden Age Suit' are featured in addition to the suit from the film). These costumes will be accessed from the 'Fortress of Solitude' (the menu screen). A 'Bizarro' mode is also featured where the player must destroy as much as they are told to in a limited time. There is also an unlockable 'Bizzaro rampage' mode that will allow the player to cause havoc as Bizzaro for an unlimited amount of time. This mode is accessible by using a cheat code found on the Superman Returns DVD.
Superman's famed x-ray vision is used automatically when Superman picks-up an object. The object is made transparent to the player so it will not obstruct the player's point of view during gameplay."
