No reason to drop anytime soon, they are selling like crazy and there isnt any "real" competition, Sony only dropped the price as early as they did on the ps2 to keep up with the pricing on the x-box. Until supply outpaces demand it will be $250 for awhile unless they release it w/o the extras.

Why drop the price right before christmas, though? Thats when demand is going to go up again.. if anything, you wait until after christmas to drop the price. As others have said, there is no real competition. No reason to drop the price until demand falls. It wont be any time soon.
