#1 Small dogs are popular in Japan which would account for the high sales.
#2 Famitsu has been known to allow developer's "gifts" and "donations" to influence thier scores (possible rumors)
#3 Most of the games in famitsu's past that have received the perfect score don't really deserve them. The only one I think does is Soul Calibur. Ocarina of time and Vagrant story? give me a break...

#1) What does sales have to do with the scores?
#2) Possible, but any proof? Its the same thing with almost every American gaming magazine/website being accused of being biased towards certain companies. (Most recent I can think is the accusations of Bioware/IGN and the Jade Empire score) If the reviewers like something they should be able to give it perfect scores. It's all just people's opinions. What?? It's possible for a DS game to be better in someone's mind than a PSP game? Blasphemy...
#3) For it's time, I'm sure many people would argue Zelda 64 did deserve perfect scores.

Zog is a moderator so I've got to agree with his reasons. :)
As for Nintendogs, we (well DS owners) can judge for themselves when it is released here. Although I'm sure most people already know what to think about this game... personally I liked it better when it was called Tamagotchi. [/sarcasm]

nothing, I was just making a comment on the high sales ;) and u know it might influence the reviewers a bit since they are japanese after all.
I'm more than sure people would argue Zelda 64 to be good. I however found it to be the major downfall for nintendo starting with the n64.
And yeah just check out the famitsu scores for capcom's rome game ;) u'll see what I mean. Also besides this Famitsu is a nintendo biased magazine to begin with anyway. It certainly isn't as bad as nintendo power tho.

I dunno what game I would even call perfect. I mean what to decide on?
Story, there's a lot of great stories with horrible gameplay out there
Graphics, this means every old system as it becomes obsolete can't have perfect games because the newer systems have better graphics
Sound, similar to graphics
Gameplay, basically the opposite argument of story
I feel like the argument of what's the best/worst, perfect game ever is similar to movies. I mean, despite the AFI's top 100, I don't everyone could really agree on what is the best movie of all time, mainly cause there's so many different categories to judge a good movie on.
