ok my freind and i have been talking about this. With sooo many people getting a wii and the developing costs being low more and more companies will want to develop for the wii more worryingly it seems more party games! If companies can make easy money from games with low set up costs why will they bother putting millions into a game like res evil or devil may cry? Lets face nintendo has specificly tried to reach casual gamers why the hell would casual gamers wont to play resident evil?

Will the gaimg industy try to evolve if the wii picks up more steam or will they just be happy taking the consumers for a ride? The graphics are a downstep and worringly not one game has taken full advantage of using a wiimote bar wii sports.

so is the future more party and mini games for the casuals? or will the industry still make these high budget games?

The future of gaming is RPG, FPS, and MMORG. Party games will never be the future of gaming. The Wii will never be nothing more than a party console. Sure it might spit out a few decent titles like Galaxy, Smash Bros. but the Wii's remote just isnt very responsive to your movements. The delay is so annoying. Now maybe if Nintendo can perfect the Wiimote then the future could be something amazing. But definately not for party games. You think a company would make more money selling Mario Party 8 or Halo 3? Wii Play or Unreal Tournament 3?

There is no damned delay! Do you sit like a mile away from your TV? There's no delay, I don't know what you're smoking lol... It's extremely responsive to your movements, maybe yours is broken.. and I would choose Wii Play because I hate most shooting games apart from Ratchet and Clank- and that's more of a platformer anyway.

You must have really slow reflexes bud. Throw in Wii Sports. Now play boxing or Golf. No delay? lol I wont even start with the FPS games on the Wii. I have a feeling the Wii is the only system you own and you are going to defend it till its death..........1yr tops. So I am not even going to argue these points any further.

It's the only system I own- but there's no damned delay. You're just looking for something to bash it with because it's your least favorite- I don't care if you own all of them, I could own every console under the sun and still be a Sony fanboy.

Well think of any real gamer who's owned a wii. Sure its fun the first 3 days, giving you just enough time to write a good review, but after that...

Alright- It drives me nuts that you guys treat using a game machine like it's a freaking ritual. There's not a set of rules I have to follow- gaming is something people do on a Saturday night to pass the time, and it's not life or death. There's no such thing as being true to gaming, because gaming isn't a culture- it's a community in the sense of online gaming- but not everyone games the same. The Wii is selling so well because there are billions more casual gamers than there are hardcore.

Your absolutely right. I do own all 3 systems and yes the Wii is my least favorite. And the reason is because its the worst of the 3. The graphics are stuck in last gen. The controls are far from perfected. There is a delay whether you want to admit it or not. For god sakes its not even realy motion sensory. The average Wii score is like a 6.8/10. It has more games that are crap than any 2 systems combined. The Wii is Nintendos gimmick system to test the public to see if this type of controller has a future. You can praise this system all you want but choose your words carefully. I have been gaming before you were even in diapers. I know a good system and I know good games. The Wii is a gamecube with a gimmicky controller. lol The best games for the Wii are ones that came out 10yrs ago already. Just have fun with your $250 emulator.

all my friends that got wii's over the 360 are sooo regretting it now.
They hate all the games apart from like zelda and wii sports.

Its only good when girls are over. They seem to prefer wii's to 360's any day lol

The Wii isn't destroying gaming. Gaming has been basically evolving the exact same way since games began. Faster, Stronger, Better. The Wii is just straying away from the usual and trying something new. The Wii is my favourite system although I play my 360 and PS3 more often and I will admit to its flaws...Mostly the games are garbage so far that have come out besides a few. Developers will always continue to make the high cost games for the hardcore gamers. I hope that soon more hardcore games come out for the Wii. I have never noticed a delay when playing any of the games I have (never played Wii-Sports will check that out later). I don't really care if Nintendo is just using the Wii as a test to see if the Wii-Mote has a future. The test is done and obviously it does. I hope that for everyone elses sake though that if they have wireless remotes for all future consoles like the 'Wii-Mote' that there will be classic controllers as well for any sceptics or people who just can't get used to it or do not like it.

No I don't think it is. I think its cool that a company is trying out new methods of gaming. I am getting a little tired of the fact they keep bringing out remakes of a game(let me see... Brain training?). How many different versions of that game do we need. Im glad to see a company straying away from classic gaming and maybe they will come up with some amazing in the future!

Is Wii destroying gaming? No Is the Wii over-hyped? Yes

I think the Wii is a great thing. It's opening gaming for alot of people and it's a great party system but gaming publications like EGM and GI need to stop making such a big deal about it. Everybody acts like it's the second coming of Christ and really it's not. I'm glad it's out there but people need to get a grip on reality.

I modded my wii so had every game out pretty much, it was still a piece of crap imo, sure it has some ok games, but like said before its a party system. Wii sports does have a delay in the boxing, its far from perfect, It was cool for like the first month or so. I got mine on launch via friend working at gamestop. It leasted me about a year, I sold it recently with all the games 4 conrtoller sets and component cables for $350, I bought an Elite, and Im buying another 360 to mod in a few days, I am a whole lot happier now. The wii is ok to try out but not worth buying, unless your 5 or a girl.

Give the console a break. Motion sensored controls have to start somewhere. Obviously its not perfect and probably wont be perfect for a while. But its a start in the right direction.

The motion sensing in games became gimmicky rather than useful, thats one of the main flaws, Also what happened to the Red,Blue,Black and Lime Green ones? I remember before it came out eveyone wanting different colors, what gives who shot down that idea?

I love my Wii. I play my 360 and PS3 a lot more though, I mostly play my Wii when im looking for something different or when i have a bunch of friends over and sometimes when my girlfriends over we play Mario Party 8. The wii-mote can be fun to use and on any type of shooter I find myself aiming better and quicker because of it. Maybe because of all the sports i used to play my hand-eye coordination is a bit hieghtened lol. I do admit that the wii-mote has become a big gimmick in selling the console and at times i really hate my Wii. A real love-hate relationship with it *looks at above user* lol
