If youre a nintendo or Xbox fanboy, and think that the next gen systems will blow the PS3 away, then look again. Some specs:

How powerful will the PS3 be?
On paper, the PS3 is 2x more powerful than the Xbox 360 and 15x more powerful than the Nintendo Revolution. It has a processing capacity of 2.18 TFLOPS, which is put into context when you realise the FASTEST computers in existence can only do 36 Terraflops. It is said to be 35x more powerful than the PlayStation 2 is.

Ill be passing on the revolution, but definately buying a 360 and ps3 at launch. PS3 will look better, but the 360 wont be something to shrug off.

True. The 360 wont be something to shrug off, but if i were to choose one... well, im sure you know what id choose.

The controller does look pretty.... well stupid, really. Its weird that sony decided to do that. ITs like they wanted to compete with microsoft on a controller size XD.

yep. The PS3 is the winner, no doubt. I cant wait to get one. BUt whats the point of beinga ble to connect your PSP to the XB 360? Shouldnt we only be able to do that with the PSP and the PS3?

Most in depth analysis of the 2 system puts the Xbox 360 way ahead of the PS3 for raw power. You have to consider all of a machines specs and not just speed, ram, or any single spec.

I consider this article fairly objective and in depth.

And of course there is always the anandtech articles which are full of tech mumbo-jumbo.

Be informed before you talk shit.

Don't forget that Sony is heinously deceptive in their numbering schemes. Most of the numbers they spew out have no real bearing on anything realistic, like, say, a real game being played on the system. And why might that be? Oh, that's right, bigger numbers sound more impressive. :P

These over-hyped specs do not mean a thing if the game developers cannot harness the power of the machine. Most likely, first gen launch games will most certainly be of so-so quality as the devlopers learn how to code for the respective consoles.

On the flip side, what good is a game if it looks great but plays like crap?
