I dont want to see anybody try and enter the console war. At this point it would be suicide for anybody that tried.

Apple would be more like Nintendo imo, not for serious hardcore gamers.

EA would be seriously over-branded.

I reckon Dell, would be ineresting, not god but interesting lol.

Dell and Apple... agreed. Not Sega. I swear their consoles had the shortest life span ever!

I'm a Sega boy, so I'd love to see them make a comeback, but it's such a risky thing to do.... I doubt they will, ever again. It'll end up like Atari.

I would want Sega to come back. Of course that will never happen now because they sold all their exclusives to Sony,Microsoft, and Nintendo.

Creative might be good, but instead of a great graphics, it would have AMAZING sound.

If Creative Labs were to make one, it would have a X-Fi chip. Don't know about graphics and support though lol

The Capcom Fightstation. lol

That's not who I'd like to see enter the "war", but it'd be cool.

Basically it sucked. Thats all you need to know.

I think Apple will re-enter the market, they've done computers, mp3 players, now they are doing TV and phones, it would make sense for them to do a console, most likely when PS4 comes out I reckon, as they say thats when ALL games played on the next gen consoles wil be downloaded, no discs anymore apparently.

I wanna see Atari back in the game

Apple has never built a gaming console before, so it would be interesting, if EA made a console, it would be covered in ADs, and Samsung..I dont know. I think Sega would be cool, but they dont have jack squat anymore.

I want Sega to come back into the console war. I really liked the Dreamcast. I would buy their console if they came out with one.

That's basically what the wiki link said too.

For more specifics, check out the 3DO specs, I believe they're pretty close. Not sure.

I dont see that ever happening. That means companies like Gamestop and EB Games would go out of buisness. Plus the companies making the games will lose money. Stores buy large bulks of games and Blockbuster buys lots of games to rent. Systems will have to put out ridiculously large hard drives. It will never happen.

Lethal is Right. That would NEVER happen...unless you wanna spend 2k on a console with 2 TB's of space or something.

I don't think we will see any next gen consoles for at least 3-4 years, but I think we will have a new company (not sure who) entering the war with Sony and Microsoft.

I don't think Sony will enter the next Console War, after the lack of sales witht he Ps3 they'd have to seriosly revamp their system and fire their designers, that console is one ugly hunk of crap. Spiderman sucked, why steal the font?

I hope we devolop some awesome new technology, like virtual reality gaming. That would be BAD ASS!

What? OF COURSE Sony will enter the next console war, their rich, they've done it for years, they just have to do it a bit better this time, and the PS3 WILL generate sales, but not yet.

Definitely Sony will be in it next time around. And I also see the PS3's stock going up big time. They seem to create these "sleeper systems" if you will. If anyone can remember the PS1, eh. It took it a while to pick up the pace, especially against Nintendo's N64. PS2 had a little trouble, mainly because of it's terrible release line-up. (if I'm remembering correctly.) What are the complaints against Sony now?

"No good games out." That's easy. Just wait. They've got some fantastic franchises under their belt. May have some problems if everyone releases multi-platform, but not EVERY developer in the world is going multi-platform, come on now. We've got to give it some time.

"It's too expensive." Plenty of people bought the system, and dropping the price isn't the hardest thing to do, especially for a rich ass company such as themselves.

Anyways, I'm helping to trail from the topic. I'm not a [big] Sony fanboy (say something about Microsoft pulling out of the next console race, I'll back them up too), but I see everyone being too quick to judge alot of the time. When a system is decent, it sticks around. Sony, Nintendo, an Xbox all released systems that stayed out for a nice looong time. Why? Because people liked them, and bought their games/consoles. Otherwise these consoles would've disappeared without a trace, aside from some short-winded Wikipedia description. All of these conversations, and battles of "who the better system is" really equals this = a bunch of opinions. (The numbers count too, but let's wait until the NEXT Gen is released to discuss that ) Like someone here already said "they're all good in their own ways."

-------------------------Back on topic---------------------------

Who else is even left to join in the console wars, that hasn't already tried and failed, or tried and is still succesful? Do game developers in general do better making games? Or are there some out there that produce enough games, to make the creation of their own games, on their own system, a beneficial move? Maybe it's time for a new, unheard of company to come in and take a shot at this battle. Just some food for thought.

Not everybody will have broadband even then if that ever happens.

Sony will always be around. They are going to win the console war by the year 2009. This is what I think. I feel that the Blu-Ray is really going to pay off for them. Blu-Ray sales are dominating HD-DVD sales.
