If you pre-order Crackdown by 2/19/07, you will be guaranteed a Halo 3 beta key. Plus the total is about $2 less than retail

Technically this is a repost, http://www.talkvideogames.com/showthread.php?t=35386, but that is a really good find. So +rep anyway :)
Think it belongs in the shopping deals section though...

I'm starting to like this game more than Gears Of War, even though all I've been doing is getting the agility orbs haha. Vtec and I had a hard time getting connected for co-op until we realized I didn't download the 4 person pack thing.

lol it only takes like 2 minutes to download, are people really that lazy/stupid? lol
Anyway, I should have had mine before but, because of several problems... I'll have it this afternoon...
I will have to download mine tonight

Ok so I know you get to be a beta tester when you buy Crackdown. But I also heard that you only get X amount of bullets. Once your bullets are gone you have to buy more more via marketplace to continue beta testing. Is this true?

If that's true that would be so ****ing annoying.

Bro,if they start doing that in games.
:Example:
You have a racing game, and when you run out of gas.You need to go to the marketplace and buy gas.
I swear to Bob I'll sell my 360.Because that sh1t will be annoying to keep paying for a game you already paid for.

The purpose of a Beta is so people can log thousands of hours playing it and report any bugs/improvements. If people are limited to the # of bullets then that will restrict the amount of time people can play. Doesn't make sense.
Do you have to enter a key to download or unlock it?

Ya but Microsofts original plans were to charge people to play the beta. This could be a way for Microsoft to make some easy money. Its would actually be quite a smart idea.

RaGe: the beta isn't out yet. You download it and load it through Crackdown when it's available.

This game owns!
Anyway, yes, as was said. The beta isn't avaliable at all at the moment but, eventually it will be avaliable through the main menu of Crackdown. It will NOT be on the marketplace...
But, once again, this game owns! Plus the Four-Play Pack has several really good characters in it. Good add-on.
So no "key" needs to be entered? Becuase I have my "backup" of it but still want to try halo 3 ;)

Hey Rage, I'm curious, does your backup allow you to do the beta? (at least as far as you know)...
