where do you see sony a year from now........

I know now that things look bad for sony now but what do you think will happen this time next year when the ps3 will have picked up some steam,got some games out worth buying and when their online service improves?

I think that sony may overtake the 360 in the console war in 2008.

I definitely think that is possible. The only down fall to the ps3 is that the blu-ray is integrated into the console and you have to pay the price for it. If Blu-ray fails then your paying 500.00 for a game console. With the 360 if HD fails then you simply buy the console and not the add-on hd-dvd player. I personally think that both consoles will do very well either way.

I see them getting their act together on the following:

PSP
PSN

They are slowly starting to improve on the PS3, but its way too early for anyone to judge how crap its going to be overall, Sony have barely gotten started on the PS3.

Imo the PSP, should have the same stuff as PS3, as in PS Store PSN, sign-in and that lot, then things will really get going.

I also see a PSP re-design, and done properly, the re-design will blow people away so much that they will forget homebrew, (almost!?). Either way im gonna say that Sony will be top of the market by 2008.

Very little decent online play, no CD/DVD playback. The novelty will soon wear off.

The only good things are the VC and the WiiMote IMO.

Yeh, thats all well and good, but Sony want/need to become the brand name of the living room.... your Hi-Fi, your console, your PC, your TV, your DVD player...

And their half way there...

I personally think they need to lower prices on their products. You can get another brand that's just as good for a lower price. Their sound, audio, video products are great, but I think way overpriced compared to other brand name electronic goods.

Ex: Their 46'' 1080p LCD TVs are around $3600-$4500 USD. You could get a Panasonic 50'' 1080p for around $3500.

But serously, either the PS3 will hit BIG or be a flop, there is no 2nd place for sony. IMO the PSP dominates, sales don't show it but in ym opinion its great. There are so many good titles coming to it and all with great history in the past.
