**Please ignore the bars that say "Graphics, Sound, Replay Value, Value" for those are for game reviews.
I will be reviewing the Creative Zen Vision: M. I hope this is allowed since it's not really "gaming".
The Creative Zen Vision: M is a personal media player by Creative. It was released early 2005.
It comes in a variety of colors: Black, White, Baby Blue, Pink, and Green
The cost of it retail is about $230 but you can easily find it much less if you search around.
It comes in the 30GB and 60GB models
The Player itself
Durability
The player is very well built. It's not flimsy but very tough. I have dropped it 2 times and I have NOT experienced any problems after my accidents. The front however can be easily scratched, but that can be avoided by buying a Best Skins Ever (BestSkinsEver.com) The back is almost scratch resistant unless you pick a screwdriver on it. All I can say is the player is a monster
Functions
This player has MANY functions including FM radio and FM recording. It also features a built in voice recorder that can record up to 10 hours. There is album art and more. The functions are very good, no problems at all.
It also can accept a vast variety of video formats such as DivX and XviD, AVI...more. It also plays music-MP3s WMV...ect
It also can view photos
It features a touch-pad, similar to the iPod's click wheel but it is vertical. This touch pad can get a little frustrating at times but once you get use to it, no problems at all. It has a menu button, shortcut, back and forward buttons. It also features 2 little buttons on the side of the touch pad for scrolling through songs and photos.
You can also use it as a hard drive to store files and such. You can set how much space you want to use as a partition.
Software
The software included it extremely easy to use. It's drag and drop from your PC. Very very easy. For videos, like DVD's you must convert the files to another supported file such as XviD is what I use. That is very simple to do to. For album art, I suggest you download "Media Monkey" to tag them from Amazon which is VERY easy and fast. To sum it up, all you need to do is drag and drop
Sound
The sound quality that the player outputs is very good. It has a custom equalizer and preset EQ settings so you can tune it the way YOU like.
I suggest you get better headphones such as the Koss KSC75 for budget ones. For real good ones, get the Creative EP-630 or the Shure E2C's. The stock ones aren't that good and the fit might be uncomfortable.
OVERALL
The player is very good with plenty of functions. The software is very very easy to use and the sound it great.
I score this player a 9/10 or a 90/100
I will post more information upon your request.
