**Please ignore the ratings that say "Graphics, Sound, Replay Value, Value" for they are only for games.
I will be reviewing the Sharp Aquos LC46D62U LCD HDTV.
Design
As you look on most HDTV's, they have a glossy piano black coloring. This TV also has that glossy coloring. The bottom however has a down curve which makes it look different from the other TV's. I love the effect because it's really "dynamic looking". There are no inputs in the front, they are in the back on the sides of the TV which allows you to hide wires. I rate the design a:
9/10
Durability
The TV is very sturdy with it's rectangular shaped stand. It will not wobble unless you force it to. I have not yet had a problem with it. There have been signs of "banding" as reported by AVSForums.com
I have not seen my TV have any bands to date. Everyday it works with no problems so I give it a:
9/10
Functions
This TV has 2 HDMI inputs with 1080p compatibility
2 Component Inputs
1 Super-Video Input
3 Composite Inputs
4 Audio Inputs
Note that this TV CAN do 1080p over component. I wish there was a cable card slot.
This TV has several AV modes:
Game, Dynamic, Dynamic Fixed, Movie, USER TV, Standard which is perfect for the environment you live in. You can also set the display, audio..ect settings. The one thing I like about it is the OPC which adjust the brightness of the TV when it senses the backlight of your room change.
When powering the TV up, it takes more than usually. I estimate a 4-5 second wait after you press the "ON" switch on your remote. That is the thing I hate. I rate the functions an:
8/10
Picture Quality
The overall picture on this TV is pretty good. The colors are vibrant and the viewing angle is exceptional. A 176* (Degree) viewing angle makes it easy for many people to enjoy. A digital and analog broadcast looks pretty good on this TV. The flaws of picture and color are that sometimes the colors are less vibrant which makes it look whiter than it should be. This barley happens but can be easily fixed by adjusting the color and/or tint. I have tried the Xbox 360 on this TV and it looks amazing. Same with the HD DVD player.
I rate the PQ a:
8/10
Sound
Not really much I can say. The built in speakers are pretty good but you'd be better of connecting it to a 5.1+ sound system. I have mine at 7.1 and it sounds way better than the built in speakers.
I rate the sound a:
7/10
Other important information
This TV has a 4ms response time.
This TV is a true 1080p TV.
This TV can be sold from anywhere for $2200-$3000 approx.
Overall:
Everything is good except a few flaws in the inputs and a little in the picture quality and sound. I rate this TV a:
8/10 for the money and the features it has.
Any questions please feel free to ask.
