city of Villians or heros

hey all who here has played either of these and do u have to pay to play online and how is the offline play ok thanks for the imput

I played Villians for all of 5 minutes and it spectacularly failed in my opinion. Besides the controls, the whole "battle" style is shoddy. If Heroes is the same, get WoW or Guild Wars instead.
