So I went to my Best Buy today and in the PS3 section there are at least 15 PS3's on the shelves, if not more. I go into the Wii section and there isn't a single Wii. That is not a good sign for Sony.

Well, that's really sad then. Besides, Metal Gear Solid 4, are there really any other good PS3 exclusives coming out within a year? GTA4, Assassin's Creed, and Unreal Tournament 2007 are all coming coming out on the 360 too.

Yah, last month my cousin went in and bought one just because it was there.

I usually don't buy something for $600 just because it is there, but yeah I guess it is nice that they are easy to find......... in case you win the lottery.

Well it was back when they first started going in stock. There were out everywhere but Target, and there were 2 there. So he got one.

I am not saying it is bad that he got one, it is just that I would never do it. Hey, I can understand how it would be very hard not to buy a new PS3 when there is just one sitting there on the shelf.

Right now there isnt a reason to buy one. Once Blu-Ray starts to be the primary source for movies the PS3 will sell like hot cakes. The quality of the blu-ray player in the PS3 is top of the line for almost half the price. Sony knows this and in time the PS3 will dominate like Sony always has.
3 months after the 360 launched stores had them on the shelves too. Thats how I bought mine.

Motorstorm ftw!
I guess it depends on where you look... Since I live between hell, and a lot of towns and cities, I travel a lot to do different things. A few places have one or two PS3's in, and others can't keep them in stock.
Normally this type of thread is considered trolling. As long as we don't see any bashing of systems, we'll leave the thread open for discussion.
It's just a fact that some places have them in stock, and some places don't. I don't see why that should make Sony worried.
Like Lethal said, blu-ray movies are going to be plentiful, and IF that's the route someone wants to take, a PS3 is a cheap alternative to a $1000 BR player. Once the second gen BR players are released, and the prices start to fall, Sony will not be able to rely on that factor though.
This is the same thing that's happened with the HD-DVD add-on that Microsoft released. The sound from it is so inferior to an actual HD-DVD player, the difference is night and day. With Toshiba having released the A2, and it's price dropping into the sub $400 price range.. the Microsoft add-on doesn't look as attractive.
I think the PRICE is a huge factor right now with the PS3. A price drop of $100 will absolutely start moving consoles again, just as it was a re-launch.

I just don't see how the PS3 is going to do well without barely any good exclusives. You should be getting this consoles for the games not for blu ray or whatever.

Since you're talking about Blu-Ray.

Updates every 15 minutes of sales rank on Amazon.com I think.
Once the games get better, now they are lame...sales will start to go up.

People buy things for different reasons. As far as it not doing well w/o exclusives, that might hurt Sony, but it won't kill the PS3.
