The color of the lights change when your Xbox 360 is getting hotter. If it's bright red, it means it's over 118 and needs to take a break.

I already have something that gives you temps. You can also manually speed up or slow down your fans.

With the one you linked you have to use that crappy clear case.

Hottest mine has gotten to is 54c. Then I crank up the speed of the fans and it goes back to around 51c. Thats when playing Oblivion. The avg temps are about 47-49c for my system.

unstructions? It does come with instructions which are ridiculously easy to use. Its the easiest mod you can do to your system lol

so looking at the pics from the engadget article, they are suggesting taking a break at 44 celcius ? Lethal, ur box WITH cooling get's hotter than on average. So what do they recommend ? Play 20 mins, then give it a rest ?

I just turned on the 360 and after an hour it was at 39c with the fans up 60% speed. It reached 42c at one point while playing transformers. This all with the fans at 60%. Not sure why I thought my temps were higher. I think I was confusing my PC with my 360.

Rofl.. that sounds a little better. I need to get an adapter for this whisper fan to put it in. I would love to get the cooling you use Lethal.

You can! The fan i use doesnt plug in to your 4pin fan plug. It uses a Y cable that plugs in to your dvd drive.

Lethal was that product really worth the price and what all did you have to buy to actually install it , I assume it was mostly plug and play no soldering required? My nephew's 360 just stopped showing video out of no where and to my surprise the "towel method" which I used to laugh at actually made it start working again. Been working for 4 days now running about 5 hours per day. I am going to go ahead and do everything I can to it to make the temp the lowest I can get it. I already did the thermal upgrade , was going to do the 12v fan mod next but interested in more details about that high speed air cooler. Do you have any pics of it installed on your 360, like does it hang out the back or side or something?

Also for anyone else interested divineo.cn always has cheaper prices..usually takes about the same time to receive product.

That fan was the best $50 I ever spent on this machine. I didnt have to buy anything extra to install it. No soldering, just plug and play. The monitor plugs in the back USB port. Dont bother with the 12v fan mod because then you are stuck with an extremely loud fan. This fan I got is completely adjustable.

Towel trick does not work. Longest I got it to work was for 20mins with Sums friends box.
