Virtual Console N64 controls

How comfortable are the N64 controls on the classic controller? I want to get Zelda but don't want the game ruined by a difficult controller layout.

The controls arent bad. I believe the right analog is used for the C buttons. Playing Mario 64 wasnt a problem for me at all.
