hi all. Basically i'm soo excited about the new game, tales of Legendia being released out there in america. Then i found out that it isn't gonna come out ere in England. Also, around about the same time i realised that PS2's are nor region free. S**t, i thought, i can never get this game.

Then i roamed around the internet a bit and found out that i could mod-chip my PS2 to make it play import games. But, of course, it destroys your warranty, so scrap that. I also found something else that looked wuite promising. Oh wait, no, apparently that too breaks the warranty, and it tells me i need to use solder....scrap that idea

Then i came across This (http://www.superufo.com/pp/reviews_content.asp?title_name=With_the_PS2_tools, _you_no_longer_have_to_install_a_Modchip_on_PS2_Co nsoles,_made_your_development_easier.)

now, if you scroll down almost to the bottom you will see womething called the slide tool. Oh look, i think, no warranty destroying. Huzzah! but then i think wait, will i still have to take apart my Ps2?? and it says i don't. Right at that moment, i was indeed a very happy bunny, because this meant that there was indeed a way to play Tales of Legendia on my english Ps2 without breaking my warranty.

Now, i'm sure you are now wondering why the hell i am rambling so much. Well, i'm sorry for that. Basically, i need to know if anyone has tried this tool before and if so, does it work?? This is my last hope to play this game, short of spending around £70 (which i don't have) on an american PS2. Any help on the matter will very much be appreciated. Thank you

Why are you worried about breaking the warranty on your PS2? As long as you dont hit it or spill on it it will be ok.

mostly because my PS2 isn't that old, yet it's slightly dodgey with some games and DVDs. So, when it finally gives it up completely, if it's still within the warranty i can get a new one. I dont' wanna have to buy another one..

if it's 'slightly dodgy' and under warranty then change it for a new one?
just lie and say it won't read any disks.
