SWEET! Now, by homebrew, is that saying that it was completely made by someone or did they take it and change it or....

btw, does anyone know the name of that last song?

This was completely made from scratch from what I've gathered. The Triple Triad was a mini-game for FFVIII, that they've recreated and added a ton of new cards. I don't think they've been able to implement all the rules just yet, but they have enough in it to make it interesting. I'm patiently awaiting this. It's going to be pretty cool.

Here's some info, and the changelog from the version that was released waaay back last year :

The Triple Triad, for those who dare to not know about it, is a card minigame that was in Final Fantasy VIII.
The changes from the last version are radical and fully justify the waiting. First of all the most secret one:
With the help by the PSP-Ita Team's own Zero-One wich developed server side, you can connect via WiFi to a massive online world where you can find as many opponents as you can face. You can level up, buy and win cards ,money and much more by just creating a free account.

CHANGELOG :

- Complete graphic Restyle
- 3 decks besides the classic (FFVIII) , over 330 cards + bonus
- For the first time MMO Infrastructure. Massive Multiplayer Online:
- A virtual world based on FFVIII world
- Player can choose his element
- Private messages
- Live chat during the game
- Possibility to view users' status, invite or follow the during their movements
- Friends list black list;
- Shop, buy and sell cards

- New game rules
- New FFVII and FFX decks (coming soon FFIX deck)
- Optimized code, 60 fps
- Added help during online game and rules infos

TODO (Coming in the upcoming versions)
- some sounds implementation/resample
- Finish FFIX deck (the final card database should be around 500 different cards)
- Sell/Trade cards between users

Thanks to alexmae for this information.

I've registered my name, on the American server. HavokChylde, of course. So if you feel like finding me, add away.
I haven't actually played a game yet, but I did see Balamb Garden. Looks pretty damn cool, I think these guys did an amazing job. Of course it's not perfect yet, but it's going to be pretty wicked when they finally add all the rules and tweak the system.

This is a pretty cool game, and will be muuuuch better once more of the bugs are worked out. Definitely needs something set for those people that turn off their psp's just so they don't lose a game. I hate that cheap B.S.
