Its time for a new rig. And if you have service pack 3 then that may be why you want a new machine. It doesnt exist lol.
You want atleast a 2ghz AMD with atleast 512mb PC3200 and atleast a 60gb hard drive. If you dont play games on your computer and from the looks of the machine you have its safe to say you dont lol. I would get a GeForce 7200 videocard. Or a 6200. Of course your system will have to be PCI-E so the cpu should be a AMD64 3200+ with a ASUS A8N board.

Ok here is the cheapest good computer I can suggest.
AMD64 3200+ cpu
1gb of Kingston PC3200 memory (512mb min.)
ASUS A8N Deluxe motherboard
GeForce 6200 PCI-E videocard. (7300 optional)
Antec 350w PSU (500w if you plan on upgrading more later)
60gb Hard Drive (80gb+ recommended)
Total if you shop for best price = $400 (cheaper if you shop ebay)

well if you're not a mad gamer or anything, you just want a computer for doing normal stuff like listening to music and surfing the web and playing some games, there are a lot of computer packages that are good and waay cheap at like best buy and circuit city. those are pretty good deals.

Yeah. For basic stuff you can just go to BestBuy and pick up a computer with a moniter for like $300. Or if you wanna pay a little more spend a little more and buy a prepackaged comp. BestBuy have some good deals in cheaper PC's.

ouch 16 gb, my grandma has mor gigs in her panties
new comp, i got my comp with about 70 gigs of memory in the local drive (place you save programs and all) for only 600 dollars thats including the monitor and speakers, its a very nice computer, the comp was made buy compaq, the monitor buy insignia, and the speakrs buy altec lansing
i also have a printer/ scanner buy hp, but it sucks, because hp sucks, and its really a pos, but it gets the job done... it was like an extra 100 dollars

A good HP/Compaq will do.
My laptop is worse than that and I can play Internet media but not CD burning. :l

Take it easy man. We settle disagreements over debate here, not by saying, "I'm gonna whoop your ass."

I disagree, HP/Compaq are the cheapo laptops/computers that have horrible support and lifetime , my IBM lasted 3 years and is still going while my Friends hp died in a year and never dropped unlike me :) (7x Dropped), and my laptop only cost 1000 bucks :) and I beat it up, so if you want a comp that lasts a year get a Dell/E-Machines/HP/Or Compaq, if you want a good computer I suggest a Lenovo/Acer(Costs $$$)/Apple/or Panasonic(Toughbook only)
IE*
I have the worlds $h17est graphic card in my Lenovo and I can play COD2 with easy, so I highly reccomend an Apple for music/photos, becasue my friend and I use the schools g4 imacs and they are nice, Im thinking about buying the old g3 imac my school is using for a doorstop rightnow :)

yea my computer now is very similar to yours, except i had a 20 GB rather than a 16 gb.And i have windows pro.and i bought a 100 GB HDD for 50 bucks.Since we have similar comps.Do you have problems with like when you close windows,or programs that sometimes that windows freezes,and/or says Program not responding.Does this happen to you.Mind you i have a pentium 3,and 128 mb ram.

Damn I hate PC World. I went there while visiting relatives in Scotland, and they had the worst PC parts I'd ever seen. I would take Fry's anyday.
