May be a virtual drive, you got anything like Alcohol 120% installed?

That'll be it then...

A virtual drive is exactly that, Daemon Tools fools the PC into thinking it has another drive. You can then use it to mount images of disks without having the disk in the drive, or even having the disk at all.

so what does that let you do?

Well, you can make images of disks you use, and mount them on the virtual drive, this will give you a performance increase. Or make images of disks you use a lot, save you swapping disks in and out of drives all the time, or use it to run disk images that you may have "aquired" from the "internet".

Yes but didn't he say that he had both a cd and a dvd drive? if there was a virtual drive, then there should be 3 total disk drives showing up.

hmm, some computers, the cheepe ones, will have 1 drive, as mine has a dvd drive, and a second slot that is unused, in this case there have been some cases where the computer is reading a drive in the 2nd slot when its not in there at all

people make computers, dont expect perfection
