Ah come on Link would block it with his Hyrule shield and after what 30 seconds it will go out and Link would do a little slice and dice.
But he also has flying power. Even if he was gonna lose, he could just fly away. Link is cool, he's a good character and such, but I just don't think, all factors analyzed, he could win against Mario.

But he also has flying power. Even if he was gonna lose, he could just fly away. Link is cool, he's a good character and such, but I just don't think, all factors analyzed, he could win against Mario.
Link controls the wind in Windwaker and he could guide Mario straight into a windmill.
Not if he flew away while link was holding up his shield. He wouldn't be able to see which way Mario went.
Well simple like N1ck said he will take his shrooms, but not many people know this but he doesn't grow in size that's all in his mind when he's tripping out. Link tracks him down in the sewer pipes and slices up Mario.

Simple, shrooms are hallucinogens. After a long day plumbing and unplunging toilets Mario takes a few shrooms and hallucinates he is in a kingdom that he jumps on peices of crap with teeth and travels through sewage pipes. How else do you explain him fighting a giant turtle with fangs and spikes? It's all in his mind.

Ok, if thats true....prove to me that Link isnt just a childs fantasy. We all know that when a kid lets his imagination run rampid....they will believe anything.
Not everyone on 'shrooms hallucinates. Besides, you're missing a big factor. Mario has LiveS. As in, more than one. Therefore, he would win, cause he could come back a bunch of times, and beat the f$#% out of link.

N1ck it's simple he's from the middle ages.
Constantine Link doesn't ever die and he isn't limited by lives. If he dies he reappears right behind Mario and slices. Besides Mario from the old games died from being touched.

I put much more thought than I had planned to into this. The shrooms wear off, these aren't typical shrooms, they make him superhuman, so after he bites the nuts...he grows back to take the sword. he doesn't imagine it...if the turtles with spikes and everything were hallucinations, he'd have to eat them first.
In the game, you dont have to eat any mushrooms and you still see the turtles. Also, if games were supposed to be real and have a reason to why the characters are seeing abnormal enemies, then Link is doing some serious acid with all of those misfigured people like ganondorf.
lmao true true, but Link would still win because when Mario shrinks Navi (I think that's it's name) stops Mario and Mario doesn't get the chance to get to Link. Or Navi bites Mario's nuts. Or when Mario shrinks link just steps on him before Mario gets to his leg.

Hey I didn't bring up the nut biting. But yeah I'm kinda getting tired of doing the "pretend I'm blah blah" or the "pretend he blah blah" or "pretend I had a magic blah blah sheild" or "then you saw I was 20020200202 feet tall"

This has been one of the best threads that I've read in a LONG time LmAo!!!! Very entertaining, +rep to WOLF, Constantine and N1CK. Oh yeah, btw, I voted for Mario because Super Mario Bros. was released before Zelda. Everyone knows the older brother beats the younger brother everytime.

He gets his ass handed to him all the time, and has to go through some sort of lame self realizing quest before he can even get a weapon to fight the foot of the main monster. Therefore, Mario would waste him quicker than Link could ask his fairy what Mario's problem is.
If you thought this thread was good I had a conversation with a friend how Scooby Doo and Shaggy are burnt out 60's potheads lol. It was great!

hahaha I also discussed that with a friend after watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back....of course...we were stoned at the time.
You know what I say? I say Mario wins, because, quite simply. Link is a little girl. Hes a push over. Therefore, Mario would waste him quicker than Link could ask his fairy what Mario's problem is.
With all those quests he gets in more practice and battle training making him stronger and faster. Besides Link has all those gadgets he picks up all around the world and what does Mario have? Mario has a plunger, some shrooms, and a hammer. Link also can use his hover boots and hover above Mario then come down with his sword. Also Link can fight long ditance since he's has a the boomerang and a bow with various magical arrows.

HOVER boots. Not flying boots. He barely hovers an inch over the ground. Like thats gonna stop Mario. And just cuz Link has all these fancy pants equips, just proves to show how much he depends on them. Mario never needed any such thing, with the exception of his water pack.

Aha come on Link jumps up and the air and can hover above Mario and bring down all mighty furry of his sword. As for the water pack, it won't have any effect since Link can breathe through water with the zora tunic. Mario's main attack is jumping. I mean comeon the only thing he could win is a jump rope contest.
All things aside. One on one, no extra-human aides, Mario would kick his ass.
When you mean no human aides do you mean weapons? Link could still pwn Mario without weapons. Mario is slower and can't do acrobatics like Link. Link can run behind Mario and wail on him.
