The new browser was released!

I was thinking, and really, whats the best way to review a console browser? To do it on the console of course! So here I am, posting my Wii web browser review- ON THE WII!

Graphics and Interface;

While the past release of this browser's main problem was the resolution, the interface needed some help as well. The new release has many updates to the interface, making it more fun and easier to use. The first thing I wanted to mention is the ease of reaching the favorites menu any time while surfing the web. Instead of having to go back to the start menu like you did before, it is included on the menu bar at the bottom of the screen, which by the way is hideable now. Adding a favorite is done as it was previously, by going to the said website and pressing the favorites button.

The startup screen is also improved with it now showing more information, and as a bonus, it looks pretty nice too. On the subject of aesthetics, the browser has a sleek apple-inspired (kind of "typical Nintendo" now, hey?) design with nice 3D looking buttons and a very "gradienty" look to it.

Another worth mentioning thing is that passwords are nolonger visible, and now show up as asterisks, like on PC browsers. The resolution on this is much better thanks to the God-send of an improved zoom tool. Text clarity when zoomed in upon aqears higher than even on PC computers. A very good feature of the update is the new way of entering text lnto fields. Much like a cell phone there are six large keys with multiple letters on each one. This may sound like it would slow you down but lt actually increases your typing speed quite significantly.

Graphics and Interface: 9.5/10, great job.

Functionality: NOT typical Nintendo! There are tonnes of features included in the browser, most noticeable being the ability to search Google or Yahoo straight from the browser bar at the bottom of the screen. This is actually fairly handy considering how long it can take to type things in the browser.

Continued from above, as I have just discovered that the Wii browser has a text entry limit.

Overall:

Great! It's easy to use, and makes browsing from the comforts of your living room cheaper, more practical and more comfortable than a laptop. Now I better not type much more on this thing before I get carpal tunnel but I sure have gotten a lot faster at it, haha.

Overall (not an average): 8.5/10, which is awesome for a console browser.

I'm amazed, I just checked, and I have typed for over 2 and a half hours on this thing, you better appreciate this. ;-)

Aw, but it doesn't induce carpal tunnel syndrome as fast! Seriously though, I have a piece of advice for you. NEVER try what I have done, unless you want an extremely sore wrist and thumb.

I'm typing this on the new browser, its definitely better than the trial version. You can download it for free up until the 30th of June, after that it will be 500 points.

By the way everything seems to load quicker 8)

Nothing but DAYUM that is some hardcore fanboy stuff to spend that much time. I downloaded, it's cool, and is awesome because the free tv links sites work on it, which means I can watch tv and movies on my regular tv.

I was watching Youtube and Google videos through the browser, could that be done with the trial version?

I watched about 20mins of Hollowman 2 on Google video, zoomed in so it was full screen and hid the toolbar. The quality was pretty decent considering, by the way Hollowman 2 can still be downloaded on Google video ;)
