I'll say it over and over again. Using a storefront to purchase a memory stick is a gamble at best. Just a warning to all.

You can go and set up a "storefront" with Pricegrabber. I can go set one up and call it "Memory Outlet Plus", making it sound all "official". In the end, it's just one guy behind a computer. I'd stay away from them. I'd rather pay a little more to make sure I was buying what they advertised. Some people have said they have purchased fake mem sticks, and they've worked fine. That's not the point. These people are advertising authentic products, and passing off second/third rate products to their buyers.

Got ya. In most term's, it's illegal to not be selling what your advertising, but I guess that whole area now a day's is grey.

True..But let them see one day the hard way.. I belive there's a hand full of people who do business the right way on the web <but>...I learned from my past "you get what you pay for"..

I got mine in the mail today from this storefront. It was as advertised, a Sony brand Memory Stick Pro Duo, 2 GB.

I suspect they low price was due to it being direct from Japan. The label was all Katakana or Hirigana.

Read the feedback. If the guy has good feedback then it shouldn't be a problem. I've bought several things of those stores on pricegrabber.com and never had a problem.

Hate to doublepost but I need your attention..

When you guys got the cards, were they in genuine Sony packaging or what?

[LINK REMOVED]
The fake and genuine look close. If it's a fake, please let me know before monday so I can get a refund *before* they ship.

Bump. I'm sorry to post again, but i'm sure you can understand I don't want to spend 65 on an imposter.

Quite easily, can someone who bought this answer these questions?

1. Did it come in sony packaging
2. Does it have laser inscribed information on the back?

I will bump this because this is important..

These are NOT genuine sony.

That link is to a general hardware forum, not a PSP forum. Please don't remove it.

Notice the seals on the packaging. Sony seals are staple shaped. These are the same as the fake one shown in a few pictures.

Also, the text on the back of the card is PRINTED on, sony uses laser engraving. You shouldn't be able to feel the text, in other words.

I'll be demanding a refund, and I'm going to buy a 2GB sandisk card from newegg instead. I'd suggest you all do the same, otherwise you might be left upset when it stops working.

how do u know if its a fake or not? will they take it back

protegechris

Read the story. The fakes are sealed with circular glued plastic. Check, that's how these are.

The fakes have printed words on the back instead of laser-engraved. Check.

They're fake. Contact them about a refund. NewEgg.com has 2GB sandisk card for about 6 bucks more.

They FINALLY replied to me. They want ME to pay to ship back their DEFECTIVE, FAKE product.

I may just file a paypal complaint and try to get a refund, I don't see why I should pay more $$$ for their lies.

I wouldn't have paid for shipping back to them. I would have contacted Paypal instead.

Last time I had a dispute paypal made me pay shipping. $4 + a lot of time wasted on this card.

I once was sent the wrong DVD remote for my xbox off of an ebay auction, and the people wanted me to pay shipping back to them. I said that is BS and did a dispute with Paypal. Paypal wanted me to pay shippin g back to them too before I would get my money back. I called up Paypal and bitched for about 5 minutes, then they credited $5 to my account to cover the shipping.
