Enterbrain's latest report demonstrates that Nintendo's darling moved into 270,974 new households in June, while only 41,628 PS3s were sold in the same timeframe; just to compare, the even older Xbox 360 was able to sell 17,616 units. That brings the overall sales figures to date for Nintendo to nearly 2.76 million, while Sony has yet to break the magical one million in units sold.

Shnap. People are reaaaaally falling for the Wii.. I honestly figured the 360 would stay on top for some time. Your thoughts?

my thoughts are that the wii bandwagon wont stop this generation nintendo got the casual gamers sold BUT

id love to see software sales i reckon a casual gamer wouldnt even buy 3 games a year were as the more hardcare gamers on the PS3 and 360 may buy one a month who knows. I think this is how the final standings will be come 2010

Wii
PS3
360

reason being that the asian market isnt buying the 360 and we all know how big the asian market is

My thoughts are that the $250 emulator will only last till the end of the year before everyone realises that you can get everything the Wii offers on your gamecube or PC for free. The system isnt even considered in the same league as the 360 and PS3 and its sales have no meaning to M$ or Sony.

yea but its for casuals gamers it will last until the next thanks giving then just hold on to the next and then wii 2 will be out. The casual gamers arent going to think hold on i want to play gears of war or MGS theyl be happy to play wii sports for the next few years.

but i agree it is just a gamecube with a gimmick controll set up with no games worth buying right now.

See, Nitrus, Sony loses almost 200 dollars for every PS3 sold, Nintendo gains 50 dollars for every Nintendo Wii sold. See, Sony wants to make it back in software sales. I don't know about your local Wal-Mart, but I see Wii games selling like hotcakes and PS3 games... not selling at all. People actually have to have to console to play the games. So basically, Nintendo actually priced the console too high, it really could've been $199 like they originally stated, but considering what happened with the GameCube, how can you blame them?

My Thoughts;
It's not about the here and now, it's about who comes out on top in the end.
When the novelty of the wii-troller wears off, I imagine the kiddies will flock to the real consoles, with the real games.

Welcome to TVG :D. I also believe once customers see the Wii is just a party machine, they will back off.

Oh? Cool.
Yeah, I take anything nintendo puts out as a fad. The only good consoles were the first two.
