Soft Modding an Xbox?

Anyone know how. I have what i need, I just need help installing all of it. I dont want to mess up my xbox.

i have a modded xbox that i mod halo with... post if you want to learn how to mod halo, too (new and old maps)

1) get action replay xbox
2) get Splinter Cell (the original one, no game of the year edition) (thats what i use at least, u can also use 007: agent under fire and mech assault)
3) download a linux profile from action replay
4) transfer it to ur xbox
5) download SID4 (softmod installer Delux 4) from action replay
6) copy to xbox
7) start up ur game ur using to mod ur xbox
8 ) go to 'profiles'
9) select the 'linux' profile
10) it will take you into a weird purple screen
11) create back ups for the EEPROM and MS dashboard files
12) go to 'install softmod' and it will run some tests.
13) as your softmoded dashboard, pick UnleashX
14) as your type of xbox or whatever pick 'dual boot for NTSC xboxes' or whatver
15) it will install for a while and you'll be required to restart your xbox
16) do that and finish installation

Softmodding is the act of Modding your XBOX, without even openning up the xbox or using a Modchip. Thus the name "Soft Mod"

It installs a custom firmware in which you can tranfer homebrew,emulators, etc on to your xbox.

FTP your xbox with the capy u want copied in ur CD Drive, which on the xbox is drive D
click on drive D on ur computer after it is FTP'd and copy all the files to your computer.
Then, go back to the list of drives and click the E drive. make a folder called "games".
open the folder and make a folder called whatever the game is called
then FTP all the files that you FTP'd to comp earlier into there

congrats! you've got a game on your hard drive!

Although XBOX games will take a crap load of space on your Hard Drive.

So you may have to upgrade your XBOX hard drive if you really want to get into that.

Yes you can play burned copy of your games. This is what I would prefer to downloading them to my harddrive. As I haven't upgraded to a better hd yet. (Its quite easy too. Just copy the files from the xbox's D partition while the game is in there and make a xbox .iso of the files and burn it as a image to a dvd. Easy as pie.)
Im already bored with Halo 2 mods. Came and gone pretty quick. Although I do still enjoy Halo pc mods, I guess i feel mroe freedom when making mods for the pc version. :)

Edit: If any of yall have big questions just try google'in a place called xbox scene. I not sure if the mods consider this place compettion or not. Since it is for xbox's and not psp's....
