To transfer your Live account look for "retrieve gamer tag" on the first blade of the dashboard. It'll ask for your gamer tag, email address, and password (that you use to log into xbox.com). Are you using the same hard drive? If so then all you need to do is put your old hdd on it.

You can just import your old account into the new one. For game saves, you need hardware. Datel makes a transfer kit for like $80

Happy i can retrieve my XBL account, but i have bought some arcade games, not happy im going to lose those...I LOVE UNO! I can't use the old HDD because I'm getting a new one through the warranty, so first i will have to ship my broken one to them correct?

You can re-download things you have downloaded. No problem

So it saves what you have downloaded onto your GT?

Yeah. Everything you downloaded will always be able for you to redownload again.

As of right now it ties to your console and your gamer tag. If you're getting a new console you won't be able to re d/l the arcade games to your new hdd. This makes sense b/c otherwise you could import your GT to a friends HDD and d/l the arcade games to his console for him to have.

Yeah, first you have to import your gamertag, then you can redownload all your stuff for free. I have heard problems with the Elite not being able to though

As long as you are signed in to Live it will authenticate your d/l's. If you re-d/l things onto a different console then you only have access to arcade demos unless you are signed in to live.
